Few questions. Does this machine need to be bolted down? Does the tumble motor winding remain energized while the spin winding is energized? I ask because it goes into spin while tumbling then then immediately coats down from spin like some type of braking is taking place in the motor. Obviously it has a floor (gravity) drain.

Cost?

Bit late but....

Saw your query and realized no one answered, that cannot be allowed to happen.

Washer/Extractor is SQ SC27 which is long out of production IIRC, but still plenty to be found in use or as used. Back in 2011 a commercial laundry appliance vender was selling them for $1500, who knows what cost would be today.

As for your other queries, maybe answers can be found here: https://www.coinwash.com/temp/F238000.pdf

Bolt down.

A 2-speed 2-winding AC motor will brake when switched from high to low.

This does not apply to small AC fan motors where the two windings are used to change torque rather than speed. You'll note that with the blades removed there is no change in RPM from HI to MED to LO.

Consult model number suffix for the type of drive a particular model has.

Think answer to your question about extraction is found here:

Our local laundromat has those SQ washers for ages before a remodeling job several years ago. They've now gone over to card vend instead of coins.

You will find comparatively few laundromats in USA that use soft mount washers, bolt down dominate for several reasons.
