Less than 2yr old SQ FL started giving intermittent NF error code. Repair replaced water valve- one screen was clogged with crystal/grit like material. House is on city water (a recirculting pump put in few years ago for better hot water supply to the far side of house - - where washer is at).

Attaching pix of old water valve. Is this on COLD or HOT water side?
Any ideas/suggestions as to what this is? Bathroom faucet one floor above, on opposite side of house, has similar material aerator screen.

Hard to find plumber/HVAC nowdays as building boom & most prefer working on new builts to a 25 yr old house... i have no experience at all; want to know what type of service i need.

Thanks in advance. I know really not washer issue but so many folks on forum are so knowledgeable!

Yes, i wondered why filter/screen isnt at faucet. Awfully complicated having to move machine, remove back panel to get to valve! Requires service as i cant budge the 500 lb SQ.

As only one of the 2 screens is affected. Which is it- can anyone tell me if it’s the Hot or cold?
( part number 803809)

Seems that would narrow down the possibilities?

Valve already removed from machine. Didnt think to ask repair guy at the time; i didnt realize only one screen is clogged. doubt it mattered to him.
Just wondered if anyone can tell which intake on it is the clogged one by the orientation.

Is there a set convention for these valves? Or any rear diagram for FL SQ.

Cant access back of machine to see how it’s hooked up. It’s super heavy :-(

Looks like that is the HOT side and I would guess the schmutz is coming from the mineral/sediment build up in your water heater.

I agree with Martin, a whole house filter would be a good thing to do, after adding filters/screens to the hoses/faucets.

Thank you all so much. Will have water heater checked. Prob already affected all faucets & appliances. Ugh

At least means I havent been drinking this for 1.5 years, right?!

That would make too much sense?! Hope to get heater flushed this week. & get screen at least on faucet side...

Sent pixs to plumber- he thinks needs dielectric union. Maybe this is where he meant at recirculating pump?
