Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Those knobs and buttons look exactly like the ones on our '97 Raytheon Amana TL washer.  I don't know how long they kept that style, but the subject machine might possibly be closer to 20 years old.   Would it be a Raytheon as well?  Did Alliance upgrade the spider arm material?

I never expected to see a SQ spider that resembled a failed Korean one, even after 15 or 20 years, based on what has been stated by a member here many times about SQ FL longevity.

Re:  "Correction" above --

So it's only 8 years old?  That's even worse!  What sort of environment did this machine come from?

We have also seen one SQ do this and it looked worse than the inside of this machine.

If you abuse any machine this much you will have problems that would never occur with proper use, the first problem is NOTHING ever came out of this washer clean, just look at the scum and mineral build up from using crap detergents and way too little for water and soil load conditions.

If you keep something metal covered with wet gunk it is amazing it lasted 8 years, the small door Frigidaire built  FL washers usually only lasted 2-3 years with similar poor usage.

Any washer I have ever seen will can suffer serious problems when used this way, I have seen MT TL DC washers with so much gunk built up in the center of the outer tub that the center of the outer tub will rust and crack and flood.

I have also seen WP DD washers where the center post will rust through from similar poor usage.
