Hey guys, what's new for 2025 for Speed Queen Home? I disagree with some of his points, like fabric softener use. If you use it properly, it will take care of you. I prefer filling the softener dispenser halfway with softener, then topping it off with warm water. I also prefer to use the recommended amount of detergent. Bleach if washing whites. All as directed. Of course, I clean the dispensers as needed. No issues.

Speed Queen has mostly been content to make minor tweaks to their lineup these past couple years. The big introduction last year was…a black TC5. The exact same machine, but black.

I expect a similarly muted 2025. Maybe they’ll add a glass top option to their top loaders or something like that.

speed queen agitator design

I think What Speed Queen should do is to make their agitator fins really smooth to increase water turbulence, but reduce wear and tear while agitating at 68 OPM and 210 degrees arc with the dual action agitator. I think Frigidaire did something similar with their 74 OPM agitation with the dual action agitator.

Jerome, I remember you telling me about those in your dorm! Stupid indeed. I'm leaving my reply here not to de-rail an existing thread since it fits here better.

These machines had 31, 30 second increments after the wash. Meaning these machines were perfect candidates for an HE rinse without tearing apart clothes or having to fill 1/3 the way full of water.

Something like:

Drain 2 minutes

Spin 2 minutes

spray 30 seconds

spin 1 minute

spray 30 seconds

spin 1 minute

spray 30 seconds

spin 1 minute

spray 30 seconds

spin 6 minutes

Would fit perfectly where the existing drains, spins and low water rinsing is.

You could also do:

2 minute drain

30 second spray and spin -cool down / suds kill-

Spin 1 minute 30 seconds

Proceed as normal for permanent press fabrics.

combo52

I agree with combo 52 on the dual action agitator. This would help the clothes load go under. I hope they keep the same agitation arc and speed. Not to say that there's anything wrong with the flex vane agitator. Their dual action agitator could be more gentle on clothes while increasing turnover rate.[this post was last edited: 4/3/2025-14:00]

There is absolutely no problems with the current flexvane they have been making for decades now, I don’t know why you talk about machines you don’t even own Jerome? So what would you know. With all the videos you watch about speed queens it should come without question at this point that they don’t struggle at all to turn anything over.

dual action agitators

I've had washers with dual action agitators and they have turned over packed loads. If Speed Queen Home considers making them, they should make them second to none. Don't say "never", because Speed Queen may introduce a dual action agitator sooner or later. There's no telling when. They may consider doing it like combo52 said.[this post was last edited: 4/3/2025-15:31]
