I have uploaded a video of my Speed Queen. I am wondering if it is working properly because the tub seems to be tilted toward the front and it’s making a clicking sound. I have had a technicaan come out and he determined everything was good. I even asked about putting a a new belt on and he said the current belt is fine, and the noises are normal. I’m just wanting a second opinion from you guys before I call in another repair guy.

That's not the same clicking sound that a worn belt makes, so I agree with the repair tech.
To me, it sounds like a sloppiness in the transmission/drive system, but it could possibly run like that forever. The machine does seem to have a dense load in it, which could cause it to work a little harder and create this noise -- unless it's doing it with light loads too. Others here can probably better identify the source, and since there's no shortage of interest in Speed Queen here, there will likely be more replies than just mine.

Even if that machine were in the garage that noise would drive me nuts, especially on a washer that pricey. I understand your concern completely. That mechanical sound may be one of those things that disappears after a short time. </span>

How old is this machine, and did it just start making this noise or has it done it all the time? It is definitely something to do with the drive mechanism, possibly the idler pulley? I wouldn't think it was the transmission because that is usually more of a grinding noise than a tick.

The tub leaning is generally considered fine, but the noise is certainly out of the ordinary. As far as I can tell, the clicking noise seems to be synchronous with the agitation stroke so I think that the motor, belt, and idler can be ruled out.
There are folks that know a lot more than me, quite a few service techs on this forum would probably know immediately.

The noise seems to coincide with the slight action of the tub. That's s very full load...could be coming from the brake pads.

I was doing a large load of whites, but the noise doesn’t really go away even with smaller loads. I even sent a a video to Speed Queen. They said it sounded like there was something in the outer tub. I just don’t agree with that, but I guess I could be wrong.
I’ve taken the front panel off, but I don’t really know what I’m looking for. So that didn’t answer any of my questions. Could something be loose that just needs to be retightened?

The noise follows with the slight sympathetic oscillation of the tub during agitation so may be related to the suspension springs clicking from movement, or maybe to slight movement of the basket braking mechanism.

I don't think there's anything stuck between the inner and outer tubs. I agree that the sound seems coincidental with tub movement. It could be that whatever is the source of this issue is also related to what does seem to be a more pronounced tub tilt (IMO) on your machine.

Your tub leaning is NORMAL, it's due to the motor torque. The motor is bolted to the milk stool (support frame) which supports the inner and outer tub.
The noise you are hearing is from the brakes which are keeping the tub from indexing. As your machine parts wear in this is normal. You can see it as the tub slightly moves back and forth.......click click, eeee eeee, what ever, those are the brakes doing their job. Don't forget this machine had metal parts so they will make noise when breaking in such as the break pads.

Next time it does this,hold the tub at top plastic band with both hands momentarily. I think your noise will stop when you're 'helping' the tub brake.
Our 5.5 yr old 542 just started making this noise along with more brake noise at spin stop. Not concerning yet.

No the machine isn’t new. It’s 5-7 years old I think. I’ve thought about putting some lithium grease on the brakes so the tub would rotate during agitation like it did when it was new. However, that probably would eventually cause more problems. I suppose I will use it like it is. It still cleans well and does it in 35 minutes.

There Is nothing wrong with this washer, the sound is from either the brake shoes or slight wear in the transmission spline to brake disk.
These are crude heavy duty washers and are not meant to be silent especially as they age, but it will probably keep washing clothing for another 15 years or more without a major breakdown.
