On his way to collect it we hope!!! its a little later than the seller says, its a 1970`s model, produced in UK by Servis, they had an alliance with Speed Queen to produce them, the tubs etc where shipped and then SQ built the frame/cabinet covers...
Washtub & spinner take 6lb`s of clothes, washer does 210d arc at 60opm...spinner wizzes at 2,800 revs, the earlier models have a solid spin can for overflow and / or continuous flow rinsing.

Luv that "speckled" wash tub, didn't know they did that on the MK3..Nice one. Just an observation on the spinner side, is that the original spin can? I thought on this model they would have still been Aluminium, like the MK1 & MK2 ?

Currently on UK ebay, the seller clearly knows the potential of this machine, so much so that they listed it twice! Not a duplicate, the ads are slightly different.

differences with Canadian Speed Queen/Simplicity model
Thanks to Martin (yogitunes) for the heads up on this one...however, Michigan is a tad far from B.C. so I'm afraid I'll loose out on this one! However, I'm more than pleased with the one I acquired last fall.
Interesting to see that the one in Michigan has 3 control knobs, presumably one being the "boil" control. To my knowledge, Canadian models never had this option, and I didn't think American models had either. Presumably this was due to the fact that everybody has big hot water heaters on this continent. I do think the water heater option is a great idea, however.

Hi Keith, when you see all the line up of the twinnies its amazing just what differences there are in the tub colours, even from the same model range they can be quite different, probably all in the strength of the colour on the day!!!
I`ve had a few shocks with spin cans, after using the MK1 & MK2 I was surprised to see them revert to the vitreous style, I always thought it was a backwards move but was told by an engineer that it help centre the spinning tub because of the weight, I picked up an early MK3 the model 42 and was very surprised to see it had a wider can than usual and full of holes, so there must have been an experiment going on somehow!!

Hi Al, the MK3 model 70 Supertwin was the first I believe to be exported, and probably about the only one, never saw any later models etc ....unless you guys can prove us wrong???
Here is what they look like without the cabinet, great to work on as everything stands on a seperate chasis, unlike others (Cough!! ahem!!) I could mention..

What a sight and sound the release of that baby must be like, with her big size and all that chrome. One of the grand last steps in Wringer Washing is the huge release. Such fun and much joy. Guschnippi! Kerplat-tat-at! Plock-plack. Oh Well... Someone else give it a shot.

Nice twinny! I like the Avocado. As i said to Mike, Wilkins Servis did a LOT of colours in the twin tubs for a couple of years.
I have the chance to get my hands on an Avocado and a Mod Yellow twinnie...maybe even a couple of other colours too!!

The Spin Can is the same as on some models of MK42 with holes in, only the one here was painted etc...and only lasted for this one model before reverting to vitreous enamel...the give away would be the agi drive, can you guys take a pic of the washtub without the agi please??

I note that the machine that kicked off this thread looks much more like the UK version than the Avacado version shown later. And three knobs - could this one have had a heater? Surely they would not have had a knob just to turn the spinner on and off? - see Mike's pics of the UK controls where the heater & spinner control are combined on one switch
US members note the heaters in Mike's pictures - no problem getting these machines up to a boil wash. I always thought it a shame that the Servis machines did not include a thermostat or even a thermometer as in the MK1, given that they were equivalent in price to the HMDL and HP Supermatic they really should have.
Nice to see the Hi-Zone label on the Brad's SQ - you really need to see teh action in real life to appreciate it fully.
And such wonderful looking engineering clear to the eye in the "nude" 115's - persilonly (sorry could not resist leaving that typo in) I always liked the styling of the Supertwin from MK42 onwards, and particularly with the S/S wash deck.
And the ad from 1975 not only showing the supertiwns but the compact autos & driers and even a Superheat, which must have been discontinued at least 10 yrs earlier in the UK! And what about that red twinnie hiding in behind the TL autos?
Going up to 1972 - 16lb load! Where did THAT come from? Presumably they meant when the washer and spinner were both full at the same time.
