You know whats odd.....is the model number I used to get the fabric softner dispenser......this machine is using 2 agitators, one for the cap(solid) and one for the dispenser(flex)....yet I put the dispenser on the solid agitator, theres no difference on the top, their both the same.....order carefully!....

I like that they have tools and parts available for these machines.......all manufacturers should have this available, in case you need to work on them or ship them to a new location....
 
Sorry for all the post guys........but depending what model number you use can give you variable pricing on these parts....this is the cheapest I have found so far.....I paid $6.49 for the dispenser.....another model number priced it at $36.99(I didn't pay that for the whole washer) and getting that agitator for that price is great, you can't get it that cheap on ebay....

model number AWM472W....will give you the straight 4 vane agitator(not wavy), to fit the same hub....$94.08....I wonder how this one would do for turnover....but I have to shop arond and find it cheaper, have to find the right model number...

interesting?.....but have this site and page ready for them, Sears will try to charge you the higher price...
 
I'm not too fond of the straight vane (early 80s) agitator...just because it looks so generic. I think these were in laundromats up until the late 90s. I'll post pics when I get my non-flex one that I ordered for a whopping $15 (and only made postage go up by $1). 8.99 not bad for an agitator and 3 caps. Now what am I going to do with three caps?
 
I bought the agitator as well as the cap. I am hoping that it is a solid vane one...but for the price it aint bad. On Repairclinic they wanted close to $60 for the FlexVane..a tad steep I think and no cap to be found on that site. They say that the cap is discontinued..really?!? I think not!

I ordered an agitator and cap as well. Sears must be trying to figure out what the hell is going on. All of a sudden the parts stock is drying up. Perhaps they think this is part of a scavenger hunt.

Noticed the cap had a caption that said this part is non-returnable.

well the model number plate says Alliance Laundry Systems from Ripon, WI

I also had the issue with the tub leaning forward during agitation, from the torque of the motor, I used two 5 inch pieces of rubber drain hose laid across in front and under the pump to keep it level and steady, so far works great...
 
Martin, I used the AWM472W model you had listed above. Is that not the model # of the machines you bought? The AWM472W parts cross to Amana machines as well. That's why I said Ratheon. I could be wrong.
 
My actual model number is LWS02NW.......which does not show up anywhere for parts.......so I use one of the other machines, with exception to the control panel and options, all insides were the same, until I started searching and found these models numbers give a cheaper price, why I don't know, usually most places are about al the same, espescially with same model and parts.........

I also noticed on this one, the water valve is dubbed down on the hot side, a slow trickle, the cold side is full flow, all screens are clean, its a sealed unit, I can't open it up and see if there is a restrictor, I am going to try and swap out with one from a maytag or whirlpool to see if theres a difference...

Reverse Hoses

Why not just reverse the hoses and electrical connections? Then the hot water will have the advantage in colder winter months.

I did the reverse Malcolm, thats how I made sure it was the valve...its a very small trickle from that side of the valve...rather have something that is at least equal, then can adjust the sigots......

there are six springs, 2 sets per location in "V" formation, equal around the outter tub, but during agitation it tilts forward....I was looking at other methods to pull the tub back, but this is all I came up with so far, and it still plays on my mind, I may try a few other ideas...
 
Mine does that (annoying to the viewer), but SQ said is suppose to that...there is even a styrofoam block on the left to keep it from clanking on the side wall on heavy loads. Wish it would just stay still like the WP.

I have four foam blocks also, but with so much motion over time, they have worn a groove in the foam, so at this point theres no value of them being there....so far the hose idea is working on keeping it level, and they will flex enough during spin if needed, not like it really moves out of balance anyway
 
Springs

Is there any way to release a couple of the springs on the front side? Do you think that would increase the pull towards the back?

I wonder if adjusting the level of the machine higher in the front would help.

I did take a spring in the front off one by one, it leveled during the wash, but then banged against the rear of the machine during spin, even rotated the springs around, in case they were a little weak...

Chuck Melton of SQ also said its supposed to do this, its just the torque of the motor, very powerful...

but no matter what, it centers itself during the spin...
