I'm going to be doing a few loads of wash in my apt. laundry room this weekend, due to time restrictions. I usually take my laundry to another laundromat, where they have Maytags and BIG Dexter front loaders.

The washers (in apt. complex) are maybe 4-5 years old, if that. I want to look inside of the washer while it's going, but it stops when I lift the lid. I can hear it CLICK, but can't distinguish from what side.

Will magnets help this or am I just SOL out of watching my wash "wash"? :(

those are the current models sold of speed queen because of the agitator, control knobs and it says cycle status instead of the unbalanced load indicator.if you are looking from the front of the machine on the right side in the back you will be able to get to the switch.

I think the lid hinge arm activates the lid switch. If I remember correctly, you can reach under the top and trigger the switch manually. Of course I'd unplug it while you're exploring for it...

SQ Agi's

when did they start using the curved vanes? the ones at the hotel where i work are straigt vaned but kinda short. sometimes, i go to a l'mat in w.boro where i live and they have a lot of sq's and a lot of different agi's. some of the old familiar ones, some straight, some curved, some short, some long, etc. kind of like going to a bar! sorry for that, couldnt' resist.

i'm always there for the big stuff, the milnor 50 pounder for my comforters and pillows, etc. plus, they have an extractor.

i've been trying to tell my hotel manager that they should get an extractor for the towels at least. we have 2 50 or 75 sp washers, and 2 sq big dryers, but the towels take so long to dry.

anyway, i degress,
