HI everyone,  I have a Speed Queen wringer washer.  I took off the bottom of the drain section under the washer to see if I had a problem with the pump.  I didn't to that correctly so the rubber gasket that went between the bottom part of the drain and the top part of the drain housing is gone. What can I do to rectify this mistake?
I can't use the machine because it leaks now.  This was an error on my part so could I use JB weld to fill in the gap where the rubber gasket went?  There is a hand screw at the bottom of this with a clamp that would tighten it?  Thanks,

I would like to wash in this but can't because of my error.

One way to do it is open up the pump and make a template of the outside edges. Go to the auto parts store or hobby shop and get a sheet of cork. Using a small knife, cut out a piece of cork matching the template and you have a new gasket.

Or just shmear on some high-temp liquid gasket and stick it back together, careful not to block the impeller!

HI everyone, here is the update on my Speed Queen wringer washer. It is up and washing again! I went to Mendards and bought a few O rings and one of them worked. A friend of mine installed it, tightened the screw and off it went. No leaks, the pump works fine; I did a large wash in it last Monday and no problems at all.
Thanks to all of you who gave me words of wisdom and encouragement. Gary

My Speed Queen is up and washing just fine.

I have been doing laundry now in my Speed Queen wringer washer. The tub isn't leaking, the washer is quiet (more so than the Maytag wringer machine) and washes well. Both the wringer and pump are working fine too so washday is done in a jiffy.
Thanks for all of your help and positive comments. Gary
