Please remember I'm fumbling my way through all this for the first time - I'm not a thirty-second-degree Maytagian like some of you!

I just received the motor glide and spring kit for my A806. As you more knowledgeable folks know, current motor glide kits are square, not round like the original (this is not a criticism; my understanding is that the new design works much better than the old one).

But that leaves me with a mystery: The square glides have two bumps or dimples along one side. They must serve a purpose, and I'm sure they go in a particular direction when installed. But what purpose, and which way?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Ha!!

I had the same question on my newer LAT and it is so nice to know that someone else had the question as well. I did not pay attention to how I removed the old ones. I was told that it probably did not matter much but to put them toward the inside of the mount as it might help redistribute the poly lube over time. Inside being it will be against/face the "rail" of the mount.

Joe:

I've gotten the same info in an off-list email, and I think it's probably the correct answer. Those little bumps would tend to scrape the grease back into the walls of the motor rails.

So, inward ho!

Thanks, guys.

You're right, Sandy, that was a stupid question , how dare you ask!!!

I think the answer you got makes sense, that's what I would do.
