Super Suds in Hotpoint!

Hi again guys!

Well i washed some net curtains in My Hotpoint WML 540 today with the normal scoop of Bold Powder.I came into the kitchen, the suds were half way up the door, So I thought " Ok then it has got a bit sudsy".Then I left.I came back into the Kitchen about 5-10 minutes later, the suds were 3 quarters of the way up the door.I thought "Now thats a bit sudsy".I left thinking they would die down.Wrong!I came back into the kitchen another 5-10 minutes later.The suds were covering the door glass.So I opened the Degergent Drawer and i could see the suds!This time i thought "Oh-Oh"lol.So I selected the drain programme and left it do its stuff.I then put it back on to the original cycle and It was Fine.Now i remember when we washed the same Net Curtains in my Old Hottie, it also oversudsed but not as bad as this time!That was the most sudsiest wash i have ever had.If i had left it, it would of probable of overflowed!

Has anyone else had a similar situation?
I would love to know! Back me up! lol

To Many Suds

Hi there.

Have you tried putting a cap full of Concentrate fabric conditioner in the draw, then a jug of water to make sure in enters into the drum, that always works for me.

With nets I tend to use a third of the normal powder required, the very type of fabric tends to aerate the water & create extra sudz!!!

What programme & temperature did you use??

I used The Shirts Cycle with a full scoop of Bold 2in1 powder (oops!lol) and 40 degrees but I stopped it and made it drain the water out before it reached 40c.When i put it back on the Shirts cycle after it had drained,i reduced the temperature down to 30c.

Procter & Gamble powders seem to be very sudsy, though they never used to be as bad in years gone by. Have they reduced their foam suppressants? Excessive foam diminishes the wash action, even more so in today's miserly front loaders.

i think any kind of front loaders are all made for he detergents and i think this maybe the case for your hotpoint washer. this is just my opinion but if i base my self on my duet washer if i wash with detegents made for regular top load washers my duet washer would say suds and also regular detergent would brake it as well

We dont get HE detergents in the UK i dont think.Besides, It usually doesnt get sudsy at all.

The only detergents in the UK which aren't "HE" are the high sudsing handwash and twin-tub detergents.

thats wierd

as when i used bold spa minerals powder in my zanussi FJS1225W

it didn't suds up at all, even the get didn't make it sudsy

the bold gel gets quite sudsy but rinses quite well =]

cleans brilliantly as well.

got my dads mucky white t-shirt spotless on a quick cottons 40 wash

i do squirt a little bit on the stains and rub them in before i fill the cap with gel

Thats because net curtains somehow make the water very sudsy.

UK detergents are all 'HE" unless the detergent states 'hand wash' or 'twin tub'.

Interestingly, as Darren posted a comment about the new Beko 'in black', I went and had a look at it on their UK site...well, their range anyway. So I got looking and reading the owners manuals (please tell me I am not the only one who does this?) and they state that because of the way nets are made they cause suds to form you MUST reduce the dosage. I think they said by at least 1/2.

HE detergents in england

in england we do get he well miele does he detergents but im not sure if there is miele factory in england.
