Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Sounds just delicious to me Robert!!! It seems to me that the system is working much faster, even the downloading of pictures. Anyone else notice this?

System comment

I'm on AT&T DSL and IE 7.0. It is considerably slower loading for me I've noticed. I opened the thread Throwing Water and noticed it crawling. I went and pour myself a cup of coffee and went out to the garage and lowered the temp on the water heater (external knobs) and came back and it was just finishing. I'd say about 2 minutes.

Well, given the time signature of the posting, I would say it was somewhere between 12 & 15 after the hour. That's probably when I started opening the thread. And this post tooik probably 30 seconds to compose initially. Hey, did I just notice that when you update/edit a post, the time signature changes from the original one?

At :12 past every hour the system will slow down to a crawl for about 30 to 60 seconds because its taking a back up of its database (all the posts, etc.) as a safety measure. Under most circumstances it should clear up and move fast again after its done. Try loading a few picture threads now and see how it is responding. There are quite a few people viewing threads at the moment but its not doing anything else.

Robert, I went to the thread again. It took between 1.5 and 2.0 minutes to downnload. The picture of you & Fred you are currently using in the vatar took a good 30 seconds to download. BTW, tell Fred I really like that hat.

That is strange Bob, because for me its almost double the speed. Terry and others are also report an increase in download speed. The new sever is located in Houston, Texas so its even closer to you, the old one was in southern California. Could be something with your connection, hopefully it will speed up for you within a few hours.

Ok everyone now that I'm comfortable with how the new server is behaving, I have to make one last change and then I'm done. Maybe I can actually go work on a washer now.

To explain this in a simple way I have to tell the internet now not to use anymore and now start using .

I just sent that request off but it can take between 2 and 72 hours to refresh across the entire internet. Once your browser switches back to automaticwasher.org you'll slow down for a minute and your wash/rinse/spin buttons will reset again.

Again I apologize about the inconvenience of this move. The good thing now is we can relax and know that our web host wont be shutting us down. After the warning I received we came very close to being shut down as we were just getting too busy for the server we were on. It's great actually that we have become such a busy website, but this was stressful to say the least. I do appreciate everyone's patience during this transition.

The address bar shows "auto.." and the icon is back on the tab. I though you might have gone back to the original server. Everything seems fine here. Glad it went smoothly.

I though you might have gone back to the original server.

Hi Matt, nope not at all, what that means is the ip addresses of the new server are propagating throughout the internet and your isp has now picked it up. It takes up to 72 hours for it to spread throughout the world.

Just for info... I just logged out and logged back on. I got the old site with a message and link to re-direct me to the 174.121.191.0. I have ATT dsl. I will try it again after the 72 hours....

Robert,
Everything super on this end.
Seems to be very fast! Quite faster with loading pictures compared to the other server so far.

Robert,

This morning I logged out of 174.121.191.0. My computer found Automaticwasher.org site but would not let me log in on that site. I went back to 174.121.191.0 site to log back in.

Morning everyone, our shiny new sever is running along nicely, no issues so far ***knocks wood***

Terry reporting to me this morning that ever since his browser has gone back to automaticwasher.org in the address bar his Wash-Rinse-Spin buttons were not changing, they were stuck in Wash.

It appears it was an issue with Safari. I asked him to clear his cookies and it reset everything and all was working once again. So if you are using Safari and are having trouble, try clearing your cookies.

Actually if you are having issues with a website in any browser, clearning your cookies a lot of time takes care of issue(s).
