Hi all!
i was browsing 1 of our local online classifieds and came across this 9kg telefunken front loader. the specs look good and the price is also good compared to the LG 9kg and Samsung 8.5kg. does anyone have info on this machine? is it another rebadged something or other? are they any good? any info would be appreciated as i could not find an online manual for it.
Thankx
matthew

It becomes some kind of fashion to put well known brand names on all kind of stuff that the brand never made. I've seen AEG TV's and now we have a Telefunken washing machine. Most of it is low quality stuff. I don't know how those brands let this happen. Perhaps they get a lot of money for it.

Out my way we have a AEG-Telefunken 250/500Kw SW transmitter. At another workplace I dealt with sold and repaired AEG rotary hammer-drills.AEG is considered the "General Electric" in Germany.IN the Wash DC workplace one of the language service folks-Euopean-had a VERY NICE Telefunken radio.

well i have never seen them in the flesh in any shop, only online. i dint think i would buy 1 even though its cheaper than the LG 9kg. i would rather spend a bit more and get the LG 9 or 11kg front load before i buy something that i have never seen

Telefunken

I think Vestel have been busy buying brands what with the Servis brand as well they are obviously pushing themselves into new markets with either established brands and older quaility brand names that people will remember. I remember Telefunken TV's in the UK when I was a kid.

AEG-Telefunken

The name of the German company that made both TV's, radios, stereos, etc., and home appliances was known as AEG-Telefunken(Allgemaine Electrische Gessellschaft). They used to be a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz!

AEG and Telefunken were together for 18 years, from 1967 till 1985. AEG was sold to Mercedes. Thomson from France bought the stock and the name Telefunken disappeared from the market. So technically Mercedes Benz ended the AEG-Telefunken company.

Mercedes Benz sold the AEG household division in 1994 to Electrolux. Much later, in 2004, Electrolux purchased the rest of the AEG brand from Daimler Chrysler.

To be precise, AEG meant Allgemeine Elektrizitätsgesellschaft (General Electricity Company)

To "foraloysius"...

Thank you Louis, for the correct spelling of the company! I do appreciate it.
