Hi guys,
just sharing some more pics of the area of Australia where i live.
I dunno where i got it from but i'm developing a knack for photography, i'm never without my camera nowadays!

Okay lets start with some wildlife. We have a friendly native Kookaburra that comes and sits on our fence, calling to mum who feeds him raw steak, i named him Kooky :P

Merry, merry king of the yard is he....

What a fab pic Matt! I always enjoyed singing the Kookaburra song when I was in grade school! It's hard to believe that he (or she) is tame enough to take food from your mum! I take it that you are approaching your fall/winter season? Will the little fellow stick around for the duration?

In my next life, I will plan a trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania!

G'day!

These are Emus, i captured them on the way to work one day on the side of the road, vicious things if u get close but sadly because they wander wild on the roads a few get killed often :(

Hi Matt, great photos thanks for sharing? Those are beautiful pictures and what a nice home you have!

I think you live in Perth because that is what you used to have in your profile? I can't tell because "Neverneverland" doesn't tell us much. If so how about a shot or two of the city, I bet it's beautiful.

I never get bored looking at pics of far away places that others live. Nor birds because I raised so many for years and years. If you get anymore you can email them to me. It's funny how you can look at some of those pics, like the last one above of that little town and it looks like it could be here, not on the other side of the world. Except that the cars are on the "wrong" side of the road LOL

Oh no, Matt; how could one be annoyed with these photos? Very nice shots!

Your home looks quite comfortable and the city where you stayed for Easter is quite charming!

I love the birdie shots; how great that must be! The Kookaburra reminds me of the little bird in Disney's version of Peter and the Wolf.

Your "pal" Billy is a handsome dog! His coat is shiny and he looks like a pal!!

I've always wanted to go to Australia; your photos have made it that much more enticing. :-)

Nice Pics! Love the bird shots. Austrailia has so many beautiful birds down there. Like Pete mentioned, I too never get tired of seeing far away places. I like the brickwork on that house too! You certainly didn't annoy me with this thread, neat stuff :)

Matt, thanks for more pictures. Your parents house is beautiful. I love the materials the roof is made of. And the driveway material is very pretty and interesting too. Thi is the first mention I've seen of Billy!! Tell me the story on him plase!!

Matt, great pictures! I love the scenery...from the pictures it doesn't seem to differ much from the US (especially your house and the picture of the townsquare), but I bet in person it's even more spectacular.

I noticed the barrel-tile roof on your house. Is that common there? It is here, but seems to only be on the Mediterranean or Spanish-style homes (which I quite like BTW). In Tucson, quite a few homes (including Roger's if I remember correctly) had them as well.

Hi guys
thanx for the comments, i've got some pics of the city ready to load up so i will do them shortly.

Bob- Billy is about 5 years old, we got him the first month we were in Australia, hes been with me ever since. Hes a very quiet gentle dog, i don't think he would be much use as a guard dog, all he would do is take the robbers his Tug Towel to play with LOL. He never barks except when he wants to play or go somewhere, even then its not a huge loud bark. Hes always been a very white color as well, only a few wisps of gold. I'll shove some more pics of him after the city pics, i also have some more pics i would like to put up.

The roof materials and the driveway materials are typical of most Australian properties, everyone seems to have this style.
Stay Tuned

Matt

City Pictures #1

Okay heres a few shots of the city of Perth. Its quite hard to get a good picture of all the city. Also its under a lot of construction as they are extending then rail line further down south and its going to go under the city. Its causing a lot of rubble and disruption.

Anyway, heres the skyscrapers, the Bank West building is the most recognizable building in the city.
