The first wash in the 1959 Kelvinator - on film!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

What an awesome machine Ben!! You'd better put a raincoat on when you lift that lid! LOL

Congrats on getting a beautiful and unique washer in such fine working order!! How about an Iowa wash-in (in the summer, of course)! ;-)

Thanks for the great comments!

I know there was a question about the ABC vs. Kelvinator agitator. They are identical - except the early ABC/Kelvinator agitators had rubber fins on them, instead of the later moulded plastic agitator. For more photos, check out Robert's 1949 ABC in the Museum.

Venus - I think a wash-in would be so much fun! Hopefully everything will be on schedule with the house, and a wash-in can be tentatively planned for the end of Sept (maybe after the VCCC convention?) It is beautiful in Iowa during that time of the year, right before harvest, great colors, and muggy temps!

Warsh In

Hi Ben, Is the warsh in set in stone yet? I would love to come but am planning a trip to England in early Sept. Early October is good too in Iowa. I know that it isn't all about me but I think it would be fun and Illinois is close too. Love your new machine and the film. Keep us posted on the house project too. Bye for now. Gary
