I was urged to start a thread about this by Jeff... so here I go. (Pardon the late notice).

Back in December (Dec 2-5) I went to LA for a pre-graduation mini-vacation, and while there my other half Joe, his co-worker James, and I attended a taping of The Price is Right! (Going to a taping of TPiR for a second time was my main focus of the mini vacation... and, of course... to visit Joe--who was in LA on business with James.)

While none of were called to "come on down," we were still in the audience--in fact, the first three seats in the front row!
The picture below is from after the taping! (I made us t-shirts.)

It took all day, and we sat in lines for hours... But what FUN it was!!! There's absolutely nothing like being in a live studio audience for something as energetic and iconic as The Price is Right! We got in line at 1am, and the taping let out at roughly 4:30/5:00pm. (There was a 2 or 3 hour period squeezed in late that morning where we went back to the hotel and powernapped!)

The episode airs today, January 24, 2007 on CBS (10AM in Milwaukee--check your local listings)! Tune in if you're able!

:-)

My VCR is set...

back in June of 2005 Fred and I went to our first TPIR taping, we were in LA for the VCCC convention.
It was a blast, and so cool to see the whole process happen.
I am looking forward to seeing this tonight Fred!

How Fun You Guys!

YAY, I set my DVR and found you guys a few times in the audience. The Price is Right is soooo fun! I was in the audience back in 1991.

While the camera moved by pretty quick I was able to grab a few fast screen shots of you guys...

i cant believe you, webmaster. you never disappoint! great caps! i was in the audience in 01 (?). the 30th anniversary year. Fred, did you make any attempt to get "creative" during the screening interview? being a "loyal frend and true" must count for something!

and in case everyone here didnt know, this is Bob's LAST year as emcee.

Robert!

You are FaBuLoUs!

Thanks for doing that! Those cameras were moving fast. We didn't get as much on-screen time as Jeff and I did two years ago, but sitting in the front row made up for that... we were able to see EVERYTHING when the taping was going on.

Here's Jeff and I from two years ago... up in the upper right hand corner. I'm next to a girl in a pink shirt, and Jeff is next to me.

man that was a fun day...

After we left the taping we took the bus up Fairfax to Santa Monica Blvd and then walked down Santa Monica to our hotel, still wearing those nametags.
We got stopped a couple of times by passers by asking if we'd been on TPIR.
It was pretty cool.
Incidentialy the guy in the orange T shirt would be the big winner that day. He'd been badly injured in Iraq and was on his first trip after being released from the hospital. We spoke to him and his wife briefly as we were waiting in line that afternoon. What a nice couple they were!
