Wow!!! Well Done!!! That is truly a magical thing that's happened - you and your lions are meant to be!!!

I'm glad this story turned out with a happy ending - and perhaps it's a blessing in disguise, the blessing being the fact that the lions are now safely secured to the house!

Yay! I'm so happy for you and your lions!! What a happy ending.

Maybe a couple of people took them to use for their house or something. I suppose a couple of people with a truck could have done it.

This is great news Rick!

You have great neighbors! Glad to see the Lions found their way back to the den. :-)
I am sure you are thrilled.

Excellent news Rick! Thank the good lord for such wonderful neighbors. Of all the crap we hear everday, it's so refreshing just to hear of simple common decency that makes all the difference.

You're a class act Rick.

My guess is that they pulled up in a little minitruck pickup and set them in the back. You would not hear the truck in the middle of the night. Perhaps on a previous night they scoped it out to see whether they were fastened down.

There are a variety of manufacturers that sell those motion-detection floodlight systems...but with a camera in them. You can do things such as hook it to an old VCR that will record whenever it is tripped.

There is also a box that you can mount in front of your porch or in that area that if someone steps in front of it (you can set it so it comes on after say 11:00pm) it will ring a bell inside the house so you know someone is out there that shouldn't be.

I've got motion sensitive alarms in my backhouse and in both my storage sheds. They're battery powered and they work.

Thanks everyone! And yes,I do have wonderful neighbours. I live in a mixed neighbourhood, and love it,as we all help each other out, know everyone by name, and watch out for each other. I know of newer parts of cities where people don't even know who lives next door. Everyone on my street knows that I am gay,and accept, and respect me as anyone else. I have talked with Cheryl and William many times about the problems and stereotypes of being gay, they have shared the same sort of heartbreaking problems they have experienced in their lives by being black.
They knew that I was upset by the theft of the lions,so they went out and looked for them. And this sticky note was on my door when I got home Monday evening.

I have lived in the same house for 27 years, and never had anything stolen. Was not a good feeling to have this happen.
It is treasure to have such great friends right across the street!

Not to worry Sudsmaster.Don't have a wife, but do have a few boyfriends. (:

(And I hate the term "partner" sounds like a business deal to me)

Well congratulations on the return of your lions! I agree with everyone who recommends putting in some kind of video security system. BTW, the creeps who stole your lions may resent seeing that you got them back, and may try to come to your house to cause more trouble or mess up your lions some other way, so put the security system in before you put the lions back outside where they can be seen.

BTW, beautiful house, dude. Seriously. And your neighbors are a blessing.

Fred and George Weasley had levitated them and were going to take them back to Hogwarts and animate them for the crowd at the next Quidditch match against Slytherin. Unfortunately, they only got as far as the vacant house when they were attacked by Dementors, so they left the lions there, jumped on their brooms and flew out of there.

You better make sure there are no hexes on them before you handle them too much or reinstall them...

;)
