It does. The Bulky cycle fills to around 3/4 of the tub. HOWEVER, it doesn't do a very good job with anything that isn't a large comforter or quilt. Because of the almost 3.5 rotations it does each direction during the agitation, with no smaller strokes at the end to even the load out, it usually thrashes and balls everything up so that its flopped to one side, which makes for a very violent and potentially dangerous spin when it's trying to determine the balance. Plus, there's so much water that I feel the detergent gets too diluted, as well as just being wasteful. The amount of water used to fill this tub once is enough to fill a 3.6 cu.ft Direct Drive or VMW washer twice.

I will try to run a full load of clothes using the Bulky cycle, but I'll have to reconstruct my camera "stand" and find the time to hover nearby in case I need to intervene before the spins.

It's funny, at first I thought I would be disappointed with the Bulky cycle working that way, and not having a Deep Water option, but because of how well it performs just on the Normal cycle itself, I wouldn't want to use any more water. So far I use the PowerWash or Heavy Duty cycles for towels because the hot water isn't tempered down, the Whites cycle for whites of course, and Normal for everything else since I wouldn't use warm water for colors and darks anyway.

Have any of you seen this?

This is of a Whirlpool Cabrio trying to wash a king sized comforter and he uses deep water option and there are four parts to the video. This is TERRIBLE and it can't move the comforter at all, and the tub is FILLED with water...I wonder if the Maytag's use a different impeller?

I've yet to wash my queen size comforter in my Kenmore 28102, but I did wash pillows and 3 queen size blankets. The pillows just kind of rolled around. What saved it was the recirculating spray and prewash. Both allow for good drenching of the soapy water over the load. The blankets did ok actually, though the rollover was fairly slow. But all items came out very clean so goes to prove that you don't need a ton of agitation (or any in some cases) to get items clean.

My machine does not have an actual "Bulky" cycle. It has a Sheets and then Deep Wash. I used the Deep Wash for the blankets and pillows. Oddly the cycle descriptions mention nothing about washing comforters. So I had to take a chance.

I don't mean to be a smart ass, and I've never seen a new HE washer in action. But, man damn, I don't get it. They take forever to fill and never seem to move the clothes. My not too old Frigamore stack (which I now suspect has some GE roots) washed a Queen size, not King, down comforter in a third of the time. I'm not getting this new washer stuff.

do seem to move clothes really good and use decent amounts of water, but I'm not sure if there is a difference between the Bravos or Cabrio when it comes to agitation - I know Maytag dishwashers and whirlpool dishwashers are totally different, even though it's the same company that makes them.....But yea - watching that comforter try to wash was painful to me!

Agitation is probably the same amongst all the Cabrio siblings. One thing I noticed different from the Maytag compared to my Kenmore is in Andrew's video where the spray comes on and the tub stops, repeated. That seems to be part of the prewash option. My machine doesn't do that. It sprays then spins slowly for a few minutes to do a sort of soaking, then sprays again, then repeat.

The most I've seen mine fill is about 3/4 of the way up and it didn't take long at all actually. I was very surprised.
