Easter weekend and someone needs to do a cranial rectal retraction! Married here and my wife thinks it's a "little" weird that I like working on washing machines. But let someone try to take her Frigidaire roller-matic away and the fur would fly. Can we say cat fight! lol Although i haven't had the opportunity to meet anyone from here (except Cristfr here in STL) I have found that they are wonderful people and will help anyone that needs it. May I say I love all our Str8 members here, I feel very protective of them just because you are the rare breed here.

Sometimes we Gays get our backs up quick, its not pretty but it is a knee jerk reaction to alot of attacks from the past.

Liamwa, I accept your apology and hope you truly read Kelly's and Louis posts carefully to a point of real understanding.
I hope you will be able to walk in the sunshine one day.

Hi Liamwa, I accept you appology as well. Tomorrow I will delete this thread. As far as I am concerned you are still welcome here, everyone makes mistakes at some point, but it is good to learn from our mistakes. I think we can move on now and forget the whole thing.

Perhaps Swishywashy is insecure and wants to hear that that it's ok to like washing machines. Of course it's ok.

I like older appliances/machines/cars/radios & phonos because they were built of quality parts by people and companys that took pride in what they built. I get no satisfaction by using disposable crap.

The worst part of his post was "get a life". You mean watch football? No way!!

Despite it all, kiddo, you are respected for who you are and who you need to be at this point in time.

In life you get as much respect as you give. Sometimes if you meet a truly well-evolved person you get MORE than you have earned. Treasure those who are loving and well-evolved and give, give, give, for they are truly rare.

BORED?
What does this mean? To me it means you don't work enough.
Is your house dusted vacuumed, mopped? Windows sparkling? Garden weeded? Are your closet organized?
Did you call everyone this weekend who was kind to you during the week?
Did you mow, rake and spread necessary chemicals on your lawn?
Did you help your elderly neighbor who is borderline self-sufficient? Did you take them by the hand and squeeze it ans say thank you for their wisdom and attention?
Did you go to the local hospital and volunteer to help?
If you are younger, did you help you mother and father or brothers or sisters or grand-parents today with chores or what THEY need?

Sorry BORED is no excuse for selfish bad bahavior. If you are bored chances are you have a quick mind. Please try to use it for GOOD.

The world is round. All the kindness you give will eventually come back to you 10x over.

...that Liam has actually apologised, a thing that is becoming rarer and rarer in our society.

We've all had our moments of less-than-stellar behaviour, and have needed for others to forgive us, right?
 
It's ironic that the subject of forgiveness would occur during the holiday of the "ultimate act of forgiveness" in the Christian religion.

Liam: for you to visit a special interest forum with the sole purpose of ridiculing its members and their hobby angers me, but shows everyone a small sample of the type of ills plaguing modern society. Deliberately being mean to effect attention, whether positive or negative, is unacceptable. Of course you were going to get a reaction. If you had taken the time to get to know the people on this forum, you would have found that they are all treasures; intelligent, knowledgeable, humourous. You chose instead to prejudge and poke fun.

Your apology is the first step to accepting the consequences of your actions.

I suggest you read Mixfinder's (Kelly) post again. This is the writing of a kind and gentle man who has borne more than his fair share of suffering with dignity and grace. Perhaps you will beome enlightened. To paraphrase Immanuel Kant: "Enlightenment is the liberation of man from his self-incurred immaturity."

My sexuality doesnt affect whether or not I like washing machines or not its not like Im having sex with them LOL. As far as sexual orientation Who really cares!! were talking about washing machines!!!! If enjoying washing machines makes me "GAY" oh well so be it its my life I'll live it as I choose and as far as being bored and taking "Stabs" at people you dont even know well sorry dude thats kinda lame. It really doesnt amaze me as to what some people do on this site this site is not exempt from this type of behavoir because basically anyone can log on to it and thats great but some of the drama I see in here can easily be avoided if we simply ignore it...I love this site and im grateful to Robert for maintaining it and To all of you gay or straight who come here have a Happy Easter !!!!!
 
Hi Liam. I agree with Venus. Today is Easter Sunday and speaking only for myself, I certainly consider it great that you did offer an apology and accept that.
This is coming to you from a gay man who has been fascinated by washing machines since I was a child. I am also active in my church. There needs to be more forgiveness in the world today. If more people lived by the Sermon On The Mount, the world would be a better place. I am not looking to preach to anyone but, we are all Children of God. He loves us for what we are.
We are a great group of people here in this club. I have hosted get togethers in Tucson for the past two years, along with the other club members in Tucson. EVERYONE is welcome and EVERYONE has had a great time.

wtf? apology accepted but,dont ever judge and apply were all the same here! we are all different and unique and not all gay! we all common bond of interest here. I would never stand for any disrespect agianst anyone here! If you wanna get a rise out of is here maybe try posting a video or something we can all participate in. Remember what goes around comes around. I really wish you would get help you need it never put someone down to lift yourself up.

Liamwa, apology accepted. Listen my friend, I am a married straight guy with kids and like SaltySam my wife thinks my hobby is a bit left-of-center, but I'm a gadget nut. Anything mechanical from '67 VW Beetles to '67 Rollermatics. I'm sure you see now how you fired these fine people up. Trust me, I've gotten to know a few and they are truly caring individuals, gay or straight, black or white, Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox, etc. I just want you to realize how an off-the-cuff remark can hurt. John Lennon once said, "Love, anything that's love between two people is okay....there is already too much hate in this world." Please remember that. If you truly have an interest in this site and appliances, please stay and enjoy, but consider this a life lesson.

I think this thread is a testament to the Good

People of this club and of our hobby! I'm not sure I agree it should be deleted, I think everyone rose to the occasion. This experience actually uplifted my Easter celebration. Overall we will not be Krushed by the life Krusher and on the other hand most of us were ready to forgive a transgressor who has made an attempt to apologize to us.

But remember Liam, apologizing carries no weight without atonening. The two go hand in hand.

Believe it or not I have been thinking about this all afternoon and was going to post a message to Unimatic that deleting this thread might be a rushed. I agree with Jetcone. By leaving this thread in place could very possibly pull more people together that enjoy our hobby. Which is what this site is about, to bring people together that enjoy the products of years past that were manufactured at a time when pride actually went into building their product. Who knows, maybe, a lot more married men, or gay men for that matter, will be willing to share their passion with the group. I admire the people on here that have a vast knowlegde of the appliances and are willing to share it with others that aren't so knowlegable. I'm one of those people that doesn't have a vast knowledge of applicances and like Davey i too am a gadget nut. I learn from taking things apart and putting them back together again. Ok. I'm going to step off the soap box. lol
 
hum have the guts to respond.. anyone who knows me knows i dont ever get involved in this sort of crap. but i guess there is a time to start.. i could go on and on about this but all i can say is simple minds do simple things and you cant fix stupid.. seems to me that wishy wash suffers from both. so all i can do is laugh this person has not a clue.. ah such is life..

Saltysam you took the words right out of my mouth. I have not posted in a long time,but I have been looking at all the new washers coming into the club. I really enjoy seeing people here getting their dream machine and sharing the photos. I just love this site. Don
