Found this at the store, i have been waiting for pg to finally make a universal non sudsing detergent especially in the mountain spring scent, although it's too little too late since they changed the scent already, used it in the lg front loader and no exsessive suds. I bet their liquids will follow next.

This is terrible news.  After Gain powder was switched to the "for both" formula, it created oversudsing issues in my front loader.

I'll expect the same from Tide now.  I guess this means I'm going to have to buy liquid going forward.  I can't afford Rosalie's.

I wonder if this is simply HE blend, relabeled as being for both.

AFter all, you can use HE in a top loader as is.

If they could get rid of all their original topload formulas, it would save them considerable on costs.

Not necessarily good for us, but.....

I initially had a bit of a sudsing issue with the "new" Gain, and thought about you Ralph, but once I adjusted the dosage (according to package directions), I didn't have sudsing issues for small loads or large loads that were washed on Sanitary temp.  I'm glad I tried adjusting for about 5 subsequent loads, otherwise I was ready to donate the box.

The Cheer I used was labeled for both and was "reformulated". I could not even use the package dosing instructions, it was too much. It created a lot of suds. I'm now using Ariel Classico and it's the same issue lol

They already changed the liquid to non sudsing (even non HE). I'm working on a bottle of non HE "Original scent" in the Maytag A207 and have yet to see a single sud or bubble, where the previous version would have a thick layer of suds. A little disappointed anyway, the cleaning doesn't seem like what it used to be and the scent is pretty much non existant after the rinse. Looks like they've made a universal formula and just started randomly slapping HE stickers on it...

It's no wonder the Tide was on sale last week at Target. I should've got more than 1 box of HE turbo. And I just noticed the box of Original Gain I bought is the "for all machines". At least the scent of the Gain hasn't changed (yet), I'd be nearly devastated if (when) they mess with that too.

Bob, I'll check the dosing directions on the box I have with about 1/3 of Gain powder remaining.

I noticed when I switched to Tide powder, the scoop that came with it was much larger than the one that came with Gain.  I tossed the Tide scoop and have been using my Gain scoop instead.

Just for kicks, I tried some of the Gain on a load of heavy cargo shorts the other night.  Usually those items generate the least suds, but even with a conservative amount of Gain "for both" it got too frothy in there.

I can't help but think if were to use any less Gain, nothing would get clean.

Tide

The mountain spring poweder does not smell like the old original, it smells more like the "clean breze" scent in a way i guess, (not mountain spring if u ask me) i also used the old smaller scoop from a box of older he powder and tossed the new scoop, i also used about half of a scoop with a full load of white t shirts and socks, i bet pg will change the scent again before the end of the year.

Tide Powder

Last night I figured I would go to Target to see if they had some he compatible Tide powder. The only one was the 180 load mountain springs version. No way. Especially if I have not used it. But, I needed oil for my car, so I went to Walmart and hit the jackpot! I love the free version. It works great and doesn't have that bad scent like the bleach he turbo variant. Sudsing isn't bad at all with line 1. Rinsing is great as well. I am dying to use the downy variant. The bleach powder is my to go to for bad stains and hot water.

It's Disappearing Fast

Particularly at Costco.  I was there about an hour ago because their latest coupon book is effective today and a 254-ounce box of Tide powder is $6 off, and I only had a couple of scoops' worth left.  I was disappointed to see all 254-ounce varieties had the "for both" emblems on them, but then I happened to glance further down the aisle where the Tide pods were, and sitting there out of place with them was a single 254-ounce box of Tide Original powder with a large "HE" emblem on it.  I'm pretty sure I got the last box that particular Costco had.

I saw "HE" Tide powder at Safeway the other day, so at retailers where things move slower than at Costco, you may see the real deal "HE" Tide powder for a while longer.

I guess after this box is done, I'll have to switch to liquid.  With shipping added, Zero Suds just doesn't pencil out.

P&G Is Finally Seeing The Handwriting On Wall

Almost over seventy years since high sudsing Tide was introduced P&G North America finally realizes what has long been true for Europe. Washing machines have moved onto "HE" (or whatever) and thus froth no longer has any place on wash day.

P&G also has realized what is long true with Europe in that using H-Axis or whatever water stingy washers means detergents must be formulated differently.

In some ways P&G is going back to the 1960's and 1970's where they and others sold detergents made for "all washing machines". That is you had dosages for automatics, semi automatics, non automatic washing machines. Everything from top loaders to wringers, to twin tubs, to front loaders. You had one detergent, all that varied was dosage of product.

But L. Dear, no matter how little Gain "for both" I use in my FL, I get froth for days.  I don't imagine Tide "for both" will behave any differently.

It's time to bring back Dash!

I bought some Tide He Turbo in the Mountain Spring scent (FINALLY!) because it's what the Original scent USED to be, and it now has the "For all machines" label. I've used it for a week now though, and it doesn't seem to suds up any differently than the HE Turbo has for me since using it. Usually it's just a bit of fizz and froth but never actual foam like what Gain HE powder used to cause. Since P&G switched to the Turbo formula I haven't looked back. It's the only thing I trust in the BrOasis.

Vacerator, what kind of machine are you using? I can get enough powder Tide HE Turbo into one of the detergent cups on my dishwashers for a load of laundry in any of my 4 front loaders and those dispensers are much smaller than the dispensers on the washers. I use two tablespoons, one coffee measure, of detergent and the same amount of STPP.
