I noticed at my favorite store the other day that they are consolidating their detergent aisle. This store has had about the largest powder detergent section I've seen in a long time...it has four or five shelves tall, at least 12 feet wide. That's a lot of powder.

Anyway, I noticed in the liquid section that Tide W/Dawn Stainscrubbers is gone, and it's gone in the powder too. Then I checked the Tide site, no sign of it there either.

I always wanted to try it, now it appears discontinued. Anyone know how long ago?

I think it went out when the new Acti-Lift formula came in. That was a great detergent, too. I used Tide W/ Dawn Stainscrubbers when I had a TL Frigidaire. Tide has had quite a bit of turnover the last few years. Seems like there's a new version on the shelf every couple months.  Six months later, you notice it's no longer there.

I'm amazed at how many variations there are among brand names these days. I've been shopping at a new super-deluxe HyVee in Worthington, MN, and was dumbstruck to see twelve--yes twelve--varieties of Kellogg's Special K in the cereal aisle.

The Mexican food aisle brought a few surprises---bagged Ace and Ariel detergents! If I still had a toploader, I'd have snagged some of that.  They also have Foca, but that's pretty common at Hy Vee stores.

I think most of the variations are mostly the same old stuff packaged in different way and every once in a while there is actually something NEW. They come out with something "new" to get consumers to buy it and spend money.
