I thought that with 270 hits it was time to start a new "Bob Load" thread. Bob, I hope this is ok with you. It is starting to take some time to download to the end.LOL I just can't tell you all how pleased I have been with my KDS 18. Everytime I open the door after doing a load I am amazed, yes, even thrilled. (I guess I need to get more of a life) ! There is just such a difference in the way the dishes feel from this machine compared to the GE. I notice it most on my Al Clad cookware. In the GE they did come out shinny on the outside but there were often stains left on the inside. Not any more with the KitchenAid!! I know some of you will think I am crazy but believe me it is just a different kind of clean. At any rate I am just so excited about this machine that I just had to share some thoughts. I still can't thank Greg and Roger enough for helping me get this fantastic machine. I have had company this week and there have been lots of dishes. Had nine here for dinner last night and I couldn't help but think how long the GE would have been running, Two loads in the KitchenAid and all done in less than an hour and a half. One short wash cycle for all the pans and serving dishes and a normal load for the rest. You just can't beat that. Following are pictures of the top and bottom rack on the normal load. Well Bob, does it pass the test for a Bob Load??

Thank you!

Terry for the excellent pictures. Yes, the other thread was getting a bit big<br<br
I am glad you have a dishwasher that works<br<br<br
The white plates are very attractive. Would you please tell the manufacturer and pattern name<br<br<br

Jamie, I can't wait for you to make the switch. Honest, IMHO there really is a difference in the feel of the dishes. And the very best part it's done in less than and hour. Not such a big deal unless you have a large family or company but it sure is nice. I would have probably just went ahead and done the pans and serving pieces by hand with the GE. I have been using dishwashers now for 45 years and this is by far the best one I have ever had.<br
Lawrence, they came from JC Penny and were not expensive. It was from their Home Collection called Embossed Italiana. <br

Detergent, water, germs and food-soil sloshing around on dishware for hours on end has to have some lasting effect - especially in hard water rinses - or one rinse as the case may be. I'm so glad you love the dishwasher, I need to stop at the Habitat store more often and get a few more for reserve so we never have to be without a real dishwasher ever again! And to think I was worried you wouldn't want that dishwasher ;-<br

Terry, we have a very large family! (7 people in the house right now!) Even with my expert dishwasher packing skills, (thanks grandpa!), we have to run the Bosch 3-4 times a DAY! And it's a pain in the ass because I often find myself having to stay awake after dinner waiting for the damn thing to finish so I can unload and reload it! I haven't gone to bed before midnight in the longest time!

Oh Greg, that was sure something you didn't have to worry about. <br
Jamie, I hear you, I agree completely. Who wants to wait over two hours to do another load. Like I said I would just end up doing the extra's by hand.

oh Terry I'm so happy that fabulous classic works well for you! Greg based on even that one good deed you did, you're surely getting into heaven, just on Terry 's prayers of thanks to the Universe. *LOL<br
I was wondering, if one had to take a modern machine, would they work better with say a classic old GE timer that changes water many many times? Don't know why exactly, but I'd like to experiment with this. <br
Also don't know why manufacturers don't add a "pre-wash" and "additional rinse" options. This would get them their coveted (*GAG,BARF*) Energy Star rating on the normal cycle, yet allow for adding that which is needed to get some @#$%$% results!

Glad you are having fun Terry!

It is amazing isn't it Terry having a Hobart Kichenaid in your own kitchen?
The fun part is when you have a full load and take them out while they are still hot!
I call the dishes out of these "Squeaky Clean" because as you say, they do feel very different
Have you done a "Soak and Scrub" cycle yet? I think the KDS 18 had the best "Soak and Scrub" of any of the Hobart models
Glad you are enjoying your dishwasher
Clean, Clean, Clean

Here are a few picture from our standard dishwashing loading habits, things like this happen twice a day usually and, thanks to the goddes of house cleaning not a single thing has to be hand washed<br

To my greatest dismay one thing didn't came clean! The orange plastic dish had a small lettuce leaf stuck between it and one of the glasses in the corner put under it! But still, as I didn't even scrape or rinse, it's a wonderful result! And in 72 minutes istead than 2 or 3 hours! :D
