the GE washers may be made in China but GE owns the factory.These machines also have the Good Housekeeping seal.For the money,they work fine.GE has also renewed their connections with Electrolux and now Home Depot has a Smaller capacity front loading washer and matching dryer made by them.The WSSX26fww washer and matching dryer dsxh43efww/dsxh43gfww.They are exactly like the Frigidaire Gallery set with the square doors.The washer has a 3.5 cu ft. capacity and the dryer has a 5.8 cu ft. capacity.The dryer's tub is white enamal and the washer is stainless steel.There are pedistals with drawers available too.The washer price is $599 and the dryer is $499/electric and $549/gas.The peds go for $199/ea.Thy're also stackable and the kit is optional($29.95)if you desire to stack them.

Does the Cabrio have an Internal Water Heater

After having one for 4 years now I don't think I'd ever own a washer without it. It makes such a huge difference in the results and you don't have to use any bleach. Your clothes really do last a lot longer. My T-Shirts for example last a lot longer and are always perfectly white. I would have had to use Chlorine bleach to get close to this white before and even with the bleach they never looked this good.
