UFO Crashes in my kitchen! Film at eleven!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Have you considered-?

taking the corpse to a real lighting supply store? There are several (two) here in the Akron area, so there has to be at least one there in Baltimore.... they might be able to dig something up from the back room or fabricate something.

I also am glad that no living being was injured.

Thank you all

for your expressions of sympathy. I will be giving the ETmobile a decent burial this weekend.

Mark, no amount of super glue will mend my lamp, nor my broken heart (and I now find myself singing that hit song by the Way-Outs. Extra credit for anyone who knows what I'm talking about.)

Cats, Jon? Cats?? Let me introduce you to Honey the Wonder Weiner who thinks that cats are fun toys that are tasty, too.

Way ahead of you, Lawrence. There's a huge lighting store right across the street from where I work. They just shook their heads. I guess it would be easier if the lamp had a metal top and just a glass diffuser on the bottom, but the double-glassness was what made it so cool.

Now while I have the floor, I'd like to repeat what so many have said already, and that's that the people on this board are really swell. Here I have this minor little problem and the sympathy comes pouring out. And Versa--bless his little breeder heart--bounces right up with a potential replacement. And just last night I got an email from another member who came across some vintage vacuum cleaner bags and immediately thought of me and my Sunbeam. I mean, is that sweet or what?
Next time, dammit, I'm going to the convention. And I'm taking my Chap Stick, 'cause I'll be kissing the whole lot of ya!

Veg,

Check with Burgess Lighting first, they have everything! The last time I was in the warehouse, they had a ton of older light fixtures and light lenses, etc. Might be worth a try, they are in the DC area, and might have a Baltimore store as well,, just a thought, hate to see it go. I think I would rewire it though!

I'll get you a better picture of the spare one I have tonight. I'll either post it here or email the pics to you. It has a matching flush mount ceiling light as well.

That's really sad :( My grandmother had a lamp like that in her house over the kitchen table. The sight of that lamp reminds me of eating meals with her. I can certainly say that I would be heartbroken over loosing something like this too

I've been looking for something like that to put in my home. I ended up settling on a "sputink" light fixture due to the rarety of those types of lamps. My "UFO" is still in the box right now, but is slated to go up once the floor is re-finished, and the last coat of paint goes on the trim!

Thanks, Versa! I've got my eye on that last one that Dr. Mitch posted, too. I was talking to Bethann the other day and we discovered that we had both been eyeing the same light fixture on ebay! Good thing we didn't start bidding against each other; we both like to win!

Hmmm. There's a ceiling fixture in my foyer that I'm not crazy about, either...

Somebody stop me!

I have some spare ceiling lights as well

Rule of thumb should be to check with me first if you're looking for something. Maybe I should post a picture of what my attic contains for you to truly understand what I'm saying.
