Our fellow vac friend Sam Watson (Beko1987 ) visited an original Hoover Service Centre that sadly was closing down , he visited a few times to sort through the stock , we saw a load of washer parts ,
timers , boards etc so I asked him for first refusal , sorted a fee a here are the goodies - WOW !!
There were timers for rare models that we never thought we would see again , Hoover Matchbox Timers NIB New In Box, Hoover Keymatic Timers arre as Hens teeth along with teasmades , irons and kettle elements, switchs and circuit boards,
it was like a Christmas Morning with the gang !!
Well it turns out to be nothing other than an original Hoover Keymatic Slope Front Door Boot , now you know I said Hens Teeth earlier , Well This Is The Holy Grail of parts ..
Its destined for the one person that spends all his time fixing all the other Keymatics and now needs one himself so it will be off to Dr Mathew with great pleasure !!
Once again Many Thanks to Sam Watson and gang for taking the time to visit Bartons and rescue the parts from the skip.
Richard is busy testing out Dr Mathews latest invention creation - The Worlds First - Cordless Hoover Dustette, who would have thought , Mathew bought a cheap vac motor , found a lithium batters and cobbled it all together !!
Worked a treat.
Here he is "Dustette Man Richard" dusting the weshers
ps the bang you here at the end is Richard walking out of shot but someone in the meantime had shut the door - Oops ha ha ..
And Whats New In The Garage ? Mathew finds the latest of Als Aquisitions, a Frigidaire Twintub, very rare and turns out one we had never encountered before , fellow collector Keith was selling it so Al was down the road , into the car and here now in its new home !!
Needs a new spinner outlet hose, and inner hose from the washtub pump to the recirculating jet, in many ways it looks like a typical Rolls Twintub but nothing of the sort .
The recirculating jet and the pulsator which you can see is different from the rolls system. The original outlet pipe is toast & crumbling and the new spares ready to go.
Now this is the washtub, usually driven by an induction motor, the first few models of the Frigidaire used a BRUSH MOTOR as found usually in the spin dryer ? very odd, WHICH Consumer Magazine did a report saying how unreliable it was and soon after it was changed to an induction type.
Top RHS is the 3 kw heater
LHS is the Brush Motor
Middle is the drive wheel and flywheel for the spinning pulsator and re-circulating pump. To empty the washtub you simply plug a hose on the end of the re-circulating jet and pump into the sink.
Here is the spin dryer unit, typical arrangement , brush motor driving a pulley for the spinner and pump, very powerful, its actually the single unit of the famous Frigidaire Spin Dryer , spinning at 2,800 rpm ,
so we can now see this is nothing like a Rolls Clone and is indeed a stand alone Frigidaire UK Twintub.
Bottom is the Frigidaire Brushed Spin Motor
Middle the Pulley for the spin can
Top is the Pump Pulley
