Before i let this thread fall into the archives....

I just wanted to post some piccies of the machine, the day after we collected it.

Thanks to Mike for driving...seen here, drinking a well earned brew from our 'Liberator' mugs (note the colours!)....

showing the unusual, yet simple, cold fill method for this machine.

Basically feed the cold fill pipe down through the length of the steam vent!

a bit weird not seeing the powder drawer assembly in there - loadsa room...

was there ever a blanking plate over the hot fill solonoid space?

Door Rubbers

Paul this is a brilliant set up (not that i am biased of course)..........

In one of the fots, the door rubber appears to be the later type of door rubber that has the white plastic band clamp around it

As far as I know these are not totally suitable on proud door,round door machines, if i am talking out of my ars. then ignore me

But my AS1 has one of these fitted and i have noticed that it doesnt always seal properly, and i think you mentioned a dribble from this machine, in which case just replace it with the older fitting type and the problem should be sorted

Will double check when we next get the machine plumbed in.

I only remember a dribble, when the door was opened once the cycle finished. Door seemed tight against the seal, when the machine contained water.

Will heed the warning though and investigate, when she is brought out to play next time.

Maybe it is ok then, only i bought a round door/proud door rubber and these dont use a band clamp and are the same profile as the keymatic one

AS1 is supporting the ice box as present, going to order bearings and another (spare) door rubber........but im holding off for a while as i need to get a soap front (ice box handle is the same size)...........just a thought!

Go for it Rob..............I have seen a couple of similar type cookers at work over the years, kitchen units everything........ if only i had the room and the house to do it, i know some one who has a complete "English Rose" kitchen for sale

Yes i can see "ange" asking "Bev" if it "cooks chickens and things"

HI Paul..

Please forgive me if someone has mentioned or asked this before but, has anyone worked or seen the "props" department at the BBC ?
Do they have many vintage machines "in stock" for 1950-70's period productions ?
I imagine a warehouse somewhere, packed with vintage appliances.... Perhaps I'm wrong ?
