The 1958 Econo Dumomatic virgin load went well
This machine did fine with Original DASH. It tested great in the lab but in the virgin load the DRY Timer stopped working so alittle more work needs to be done here. Otherwise this may become one of my favorite machines. I love the Pink trim soooo homey!
And the Patriotic Pilot Lights are over the top!

Terry this is an electric model. I prefer them because you don't have to deal with any lint or lint filters.
This one has a real nice dryer in it works very fast!

There seems to be a big difference in the drying speed of the Bendix machines compared to the others. Faster extraction speed is just part of the equation, must be something else special going on. The Bendix Condenser type is the fastest of that type I've ever seen.
Oh that machine looks just MINT Jon, wow beautiful. I'm glad you found some dime store knobs that will fit on this "budget" machine LOL.

That Budget Duo is beautiful; I concurr about the lights,
and the "Dime Store" knobs are very serious controls. Perfect
that the door trim matches the pink surrounding this box!!

And to think I get to experience the Bendixes virginally. They're breath-taking; little wonder you have such lust for them. I can't believe the beauty of the chrome and the colors--all this before LSD. How beautiful!

Oh! Another nice Bendix combo. Nice machine, even for a BOL one. With all those combo's you can do all your laundry overnight. I'd be up watching them though.

Jon, beautiful combo! I first saw that model in the service/parts books in 1969 when I went to the Bendix parts distributor in Atlanta for a new door boot for Brenda. I think that the colors for the dial lights make much more sense with blue for the wash cycle and red for the dry cycle.
Bendix had the best designed condensing system in any combo with the water introduced at the top of the condensation tower so that it flowed to the bottom in a spiral pattern against the wall of the tower and then across the wedge-shaped piece that connected the tower to the tub. Even through the water was warmed at that point, that is where the steamy air drawn from the tub first made contact with water to start the cooling & condensing process. Even when I used to save the condensing water to wash clothes, it was never more than warm and just enough to fill the tub of one of the Frigidaire washers. Bendix had the heated air entering the tub directly at, what would you say, between the 8 and 10 o'clock position so that the hottest, dryest air hit the clothes on the way up and traveled with them to the lowest point, absorbing moisture on the way, before being pulled into the condensor. They had the air pattern and speed just right. The air pattern on the Kenmore 29 inch combo, on the other hand, entered the at the front of the OUTER tub side wall, but fully half of the inner drum blocked the air flow into the tumbling clothes because of those 3 wide ballast tanks. A lot of heat was wasted in that dryer. It ran 5800 watts of heat for the full drying time without cycling until the dryness thermostat was satisfied and I think I remember taking sustained exhaust temperature readings of 165F or higher. My KA gas dryer with the 37K modulating burner sustains that exhaust temperature for most of the cycle, too, but it dries very fast because heated air is introduced directly into the tumbling clothes and is not allowed to bypass the drum like in the KM combo.
Jon, if you put your unmentionables at the back of the drum, what are the black and gold bands on; don't tell me they are thigh-high stockings or surgical hose.

This is a beautiful machine. I wish Bendix stayed in Business.
Right now I still don't have a machine but I wish I could design my own and have it made to specs. It would be a go between a Bendix and a Kenmore combo.
