Vacuum Cleaner Collectors' Club Convention <br
To all traveling
A safe and fun flight to Saint Louis <br
And may all your hoses, wands, crevice tools and power nozzles work perfectly. Hope the convention doesn't suck too much. *LOL* <br
-Seriously have a great time. From what I can tell of those peeps who post here and are in both, it's another great group <br

Awwww thanks toggle!

I leave tomorrow. I'm very excited! Finally get to meet all these vacuum nuts in person. Should be a great time like no other <br
Corey

Have fun everyone...be sure to post lots of pictures as well!! <br
While I won't be able to attend this one, I'll definitely be going to the 2007 Convention (and each one after that) as I'm joining the VCCC this August.

Thanks Steve for the good wishes. I will be attending this event. This will be Greg Nunns' first one! I have been to four otheres and we have always had a great time. I just wish more of you guys and gals could have attended as well. Terry

Hey it's me Marty! On Jeff's lap.....laptop! Just wanted to say hi! having a great time so far!!!!

this will be my first. i am in Tulsa OK right now. i work for Marriott and am staying at Fairfield inn. they prolly saw that im on the employee rate and gave me the worst room possible. smoking room with a filthy bathtub and dirty desk and the AC controls dont work properly. also, the bathtub doesnt drain properly and by the time my shower was over i was taking a bath! if i wasnt on the special employee discount i would raise hell! i also got a speeding ticket on the way. lets see what happens next. David

Red Convertible

Is model 574, a promo model. It will be part of the display Fred, Tom Anderson and myself are doing!

The Red Promo.

That was made for about two weeks in 1962, and is by far the rarest Convertible of them all--aside from the cord reel model. Just over 25,000 were made, Jeff tells me. The colors are Pearl White and Canton Red with Silver trim <br
More pictures to come as we get them! Looking forward to meeting new folks! It's gonna be a fun time <br
:- <br

VCCC

It is about 5AM here, just packing the last of my things into the car and off to St. Louis. It should be a great time. Look out IL, Charlie and Fred will be driving through your state in about 3 hours.....

The New Constellation?

I read somewhere that there is a new stainless steel Hoover Constellation being made in the UK. If this is true, will anyone have one at the convention to compare it to the older models? I love the pics. Please keep them coming. Tim

Helen Lawson Reports!!

Greetings fellow vacuum enthusiasts from Tarantula Arms in fashionable St. Charles Il. Yesterday Ida and I told Max to get the car ready for the trip to St. Louis. He, of course, packed the cooler full of adult liquid beverages and canapes. My long cigarette holder is also ready to go and all fingers have been put through the pencil sharpener <br
We thought you would enjoy a picture of the car before Ida started packing the multitudes of vacuums. It seems the trunk wasn't large enough so some vacuums are tied to the fenders and running boards <br
My beautiful Isotta Fraschini looks like a laundry wagon instead of a movie star's car. Cost me $27,000. Not like these cars today made of chromium and spit. I told Ida "Car? We don't need a car. We have a car!!"

Helen Reporting to Work Last Week

A fan sent me this picture he snapped when I was arriving at Paramount to finish my last picture commitment. <br
How many times do I have to tell people "I am big, it's the pictures that have gotten small!!&quot <br
Upon closer examination you will see the back of my head, Ida's head and Max is at the wheel <br
Ida told me I can't wear a scarf. She doesn't want me to end up like Isadora Duncan <br
See you later today darlings!!

and how VERY stylish it is and you are.

See, there is a difference between fashion and style. <br
Fashion is dictated by others.
Style is within, and exudes outward. <br
Thanks for the update, Helen Darling. :- <br <br

12:11 AM 6/15/06

Well, it seems that most attendees have arrived and it looks to be one of the best conventions yet. Some incredible machines and reunions of old friends. Indeed, the stainless steel Maytag Satellite (a renewed Constellation) is here along with hundreds of machines all the way back to the turn of the 20th Century. More pictures to follow tomorrow.

AB FAB!

12:35am... tired and back in the room, everyone has arrived, and the vacuums are fantastic.
This will be one fantastic convention!

Some Pictures!

Comas is about right.. boy, I slept like the dead <br
Only a few pictures so far... more to follow after today's activities <br
There are some pictures of my Maytag Satellite, too... Not from at the convention, from at home. I've been keeping it a secret until the convention! The link is on the top of the photo page. :) And a preview of my new cleaner display at Mom's house <br
Enjoy!

SATELLITE

I love that little machine, hooverwheelaway! I know they are made in the UK, so do you have to change anything with the current to make it usable in our 110v outlets? I saw one on a UK website. How well does it work? Is it as quiet as the Constellation? Will they be available in the US? Great pictures. Keep them coming. Tim

Electric Broomsticks

How come witches never wear underwear <br
Better grip on the broom <br
Kell <br
PS Sunbeam made an electric broom in the late sixties with a top fill bag, that was amazing.

Looks Like A Fun Time!

Jeff and Tom wanted me to go, but this is the busiest time on the farm right now. We are putting up hay and with the weather as dry as it is, it needs to be done. Oh well, maybe next year. <br
That Maytag "connie" looks sharp <br
Joe

The Satellite looks so nice. They stuck to the original design so well I can only hope that it will make it over to this side. I would write a tv ad for it showing the original in a 50's setting morphing thru the 60's and then to this one.
