12:11 AM 6/15/06

Well, it seems that most attendees have arrived and it looks to be one of the best conventions yet. Some incredible machines and reunions of old friends. Indeed, the stainless steel Maytag Satellite (a renewed Constellation) is here along with hundreds of machines all the way back to the turn of the 20th Century. More pictures to follow tomorrow.

AB FAB!

12:35am... tired and back in the room, everyone has arrived, and the vacuums are fantastic.
This will be one fantastic convention!

Some Pictures!

Comas is about right.. boy, I slept like the dead <br
Only a few pictures so far... more to follow after today's activities <br
There are some pictures of my Maytag Satellite, too... Not from at the convention, from at home. I've been keeping it a secret until the convention! The link is on the top of the photo page. :) And a preview of my new cleaner display at Mom's house <br
Enjoy!

SATELLITE

I love that little machine, hooverwheelaway! I know they are made in the UK, so do you have to change anything with the current to make it usable in our 110v outlets? I saw one on a UK website. How well does it work? Is it as quiet as the Constellation? Will they be available in the US? Great pictures. Keep them coming. Tim

Electric Broomsticks

How come witches never wear underwear <br
Better grip on the broom <br
Kell <br
PS Sunbeam made an electric broom in the late sixties with a top fill bag, that was amazing.

Looks Like A Fun Time!

Jeff and Tom wanted me to go, but this is the busiest time on the farm right now. We are putting up hay and with the weather as dry as it is, it needs to be done. Oh well, maybe next year. <br
That Maytag "connie" looks sharp <br
Joe

The Satellite looks so nice. They stuck to the original design so well I can only hope that it will make it over to this side. I would write a tv ad for it showing the original in a 50's setting morphing thru the 60's and then to this one.

For your viewing pleasure

On the left, and Electrolux Olympia with two different power nozzles <br
And on the right, a Miele S 240i with variable suction, and a power nozzle(not the one that came with the machine). The power nozzle had 6 different carpet heights.

More Vacuum fun.......

On the left, an Electrolux Discovery II(my original from mid 80's), in the middle, an original(heavy) Fantom, and on the right, an Electrolux Epic(Series 3500 SA) that has a front light. I also picked up a power hose from Ebay so that I could use the sidekick with this model.

Home safe and sound...

Another convention has come and gone, the biggest one yet, with more vacuums than ever before.
Everyone appeared to have a blast, and the club has new leadership. Watch for next years convention to reach new heights

Mark your calenders now, we're going to Omaha in 2007 <br
Finally some comments I didn't get to say in person <br
To Corey: I was thrilled to see you win a ribbon with your Hoover 64. Congrats on that <br
To David: I wish we'd had more chance to talk, there was always SO much happening <br
To Ida & Helen: Thanks for all your help, I could not have done any of what I did if it were not for your support and assistance. I love you two!! <br
To Greg: Thanks for *driving* my Convertible in the cleaning contest. You tried something new, ands a good time was had by all. The Omaha convention will be spectacular <br
And finally To Bobby: We both learned about how two vacuums worked last night. I brought those two bags home, I will weigh them on an honest scale and declare a winner. I still think the Eureka won <br

Thanks Jeff for the synopsis, and glad everyone had fun <br
As to Omaha 2007--YES!!!! Can't wait as I'll be a VCCC member by then! Wash-in at Greg's afterwards <br

Here Are Some Of My Preliminary Pictures of the St. Louis Co

There were so many fantastic things to see and do, and being the dizzy thing I am some times, I left my Nikon in my room for the club's trip to the Fox Theatre and personal tour by Stan Kann. We also paid a visit to Stan Kann's personal vacuum collection at his home (which was featured a number of times on The Tonight Show) (and saw is 1940's Lincoln Continental.) Hopefully, we will round up some pictures of those events. Stan is the most amazing gentleman and host. You could tell he loved showing the theatre and his collection. These are things that you usually don't get to see <br
The Fox Theatre is the second largest theatre in the US (after Radio City Music Hall.) It has been completely restored and is currently home to the traveling "Phantom of the Opera.&quot <br
Stan Kann plays the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ (one of two organs in the theatre) that rises from the orchestra pit. The Wurlitzer is currently covered up for "Phantom" to protect it. Stan has to have the most definitive collection of pre-war vacuums that you have ever seen <br
Here are some preliminary pictures and hopefully, more will be added. Sorry - some of the pictures are a little fuzzy.

Is that the

Jeff <br
Great display- If you could only have had Agnes Moorehead and Jerry Lewis in the picture as well due their old classic movie "Whose Minding the Store".... Is that the Four Forty Four model? The "Little Ball Of Sunshine"? Looks pretty good still- but entirely TOO orange for me..lol- Can't believe that my old work was just gonna toss it- idiots <br
I may be wrong on the Constellation the 444, but- wow...just incredible....that display. good job guys <br
Also- since my links with all things Hoover Corporate are pretty much useless due the big wave of people loosing work there- Do they plan to offer the Sattelite model here- if they haven't already- and will it have a HOOVER badge instead of that riccoculous Maytag emblem <br
Cha <br
P.S. Congrads on the quitting smoking issue- I still do and really need to stop as well. It's hard...but then again their are people like you everyday who just drop the pack in the garbage and stop for good.... My process will be more lengthy at best...but that's me <br
Congrat's again!!!
