Whoa, that is some “mote”, the grandfather of all remotes! I’ve never seen this before. I wonder if very many buyers bit at this one, probably not or its existence would be more commonly known.

My grandparents bought a new Zenith console TV in 1956 that had what I always thought was one of the first remote controls. It had a box about the size of the Philco Mystery Control, that was a duplicate of the tv controls, but this bad boy also had a cable that connected it to the set, running across the floor, not especially handy.

I have this same Mirro - Matic percolator, its the only electric perk out of my previously large collection that I kept. It is such a beautiful electric perc, and it also makes very good coffee.

Thanks Louie for posting all these wonderful windows to 20th century history. Your efforts are always appreciated by myself and I'm sure everyone else here too.
