The GE coffee table Hi-fi console-note you can swing the TT out-but it is still under the top-making loading or unloading-cueing records difficult. That Admiral flight deck Hi-fi would be easier in that regard!

1949 Magnavox 552h Embassy Vintage Vacuum Tube Console w Rec

If I had room...this would be a nice addition to the "stereo room(s)"

CL Seller ad reads:

"For sale is my gorgeous working Magnavox Embassy 552h Record player radio console. It was made only between 1949-1950 Magnavox and was one of thier high end models. By this time, Televisions were being incorporated into the cabinets (or on top with the Windsor Imperial) so mine had the option. However it was sold sans television, and has plenty of record storage. :D The Embassy was one model below the massive Windsor.
The turntable has been serviced and has been completely restored (new pulley all parts lubed even comes with extra new needle) It has been retubed with high quality vintage usa tubes. Field coil speaker is in excellent condition with no damage or deterioration. Everythings works and sounds great. Excellent condition. It has been a real labor of love that I have much more time and money into than I am asking. It uses a 6v6 power amplifier. It is hooked up and can be auditioned. Email if seriously interested and have cash.

A demonstration video can be seen here :

1850 for "The Fisher" Hi-fi console-think the seller needs to get his head out of the speaker! The 1949 Magnavox mono hi-fi system looks just like one a former neighbor had-worked GREAT-was his mothers. They moved. He didn't want to sell his set.Don't like 60-70's SS stuff-had a TERRIBLE sound even though the amp would measure good on an audio analyzer. The Fisher 220T receiver looks good-would like to see whats under the covers. The money shot!Usually Fisher is pretty good.

My Aunt Doris had the Magnavox shown in reply #71 & #83. The last time I saw it, it was in an upstairs bedroom. Don't know what became of it after she went to assisted living, and now nursing home. Wouldn't doubt it's in storage with most of her other possessions.

VERY NICE!!!!The Hi-Fi is in remarkable condition. The link doesn't work. This must of been the model before my Mothers unit-hers was bought in the early 60's.The electronics were largely the same.I kept hers CLEAN-no dust in it-The one for sale needs cleaning BAD-the dust on the tubes will make for strange smells while its running. And will probably need recapping, switches and pots cleaned,-new stylus for the TT.Also my Moms unit had the sliding top covers.

Fisher President Hi-fi console-its LOADED-you have to be the President to afford it.I don't like early SS designs-a TUBED design is better.Don't know whatbrand the TT or cassette machine is.Too many unknowns in that President Hi-Fi.Esp for the price.I used to have a Sony RR tape machine similar to the one that is in the console.
