[70series]

Appnut: My post was not meant to sound like I was questioning or disagreeing with you in any way, because I am not. I know this is a standard 800 with the small door. I was just expressing what I thought was an interesting point that a lower ranked model, that being the Model 70 in Reply # 33, has the full door which was a more upscale feature. As we both know, in 1965, like many other years, there were two groups of washer and dryer models for both the 800 series and 70 series; one being the standard, and the other being the slightly more upscale alphabet model. It makes perfect sense that the alphabet models would have superior features to the standard ones within the same series. I thought it was interesting that the 70 series model dryer, even though an alphabet model would have a larger door than the more TOL 800, even if that one is a standard.

I believe the dryer in Reply # 92 is a match for the 1965 alphabet 800 washer. I wonder what the differences are between that and the alphabet 70, given they look almost exactly the same.

The Maytag washer on the stacked combo washer and dryer lid slides and locks during the cycle. Its dumb, when i was little my grandma had one and i couldnt watch it!
