Reply #64: My stepfather’s stepmother (my step-step grandmother?) used to make the upside down Veg-All tuna bake during Lent. It wasn’t bad, actually.

Reply #46: My dad always placed a slice of cheddar cheese on his slice of apple pie and put it in a warm oven for a few minutes to soften it. Like most tykes, I had to have my apple pie the same way as dad did. (This also accounts for my penchant for blue cheese salad dressing and having hash browns as a side with hamburger and steak.). Anyway, I’ll bet making a cheese crust with a slice of cheddar atop the slice would be awesome.

I remember the first time I tried a piece of sharp cheddar on top of a slice of warm apple pie...I was a young teen and thought that it was going to be awful. Boy was I wrong. It was delicious.
