Re: Reply #20

This was my favorite Swanson’s TV Dinner! Loved the three new potatoes in the gravy. This was fare for when the parents went out and we were left with a babysitter, a treat.

I’m definitely going to make the Chick-N-Cue Sauce for a tray of chicken thighs today. Have everything in the pantry. In a best-of-both-worlds effort, I’ll marinate the chicken, holding back some sauce for basting during roasting.

Also want to give the barbecued Spam a try.

A good dose of oven barbecuing is the perfect antidote to today’s -10 degree/-32 wind chill weather here on the open prairie.

As always, thanks for posting these great ads, Louie.

In Reply #11 ....I made that recipe for the Crisco Banana Spice Cake....I made it as they directed but I used 9 inch nonstick pans and dropped the oven temp to 350 F and saw that the recipe called for 40 mins of baking time. It actually baked in my oven to perfection at 30 mins exactly. I figured I would share and the frosting tastes like marshmallow...it’s good but man it’s a lot of work. I couldn’t even imagine beating that with a hand crank egg beater like they directed. Overall it’s a tasty recipe and easy to make...
