Some more help please:
I have an early A406 with the original Powerfin Agitator. I want to remove it but, before I destroy it:
<ol>
<li>It doesn't have a set-screw in the side of the agitator.</li>
<li>It has what looks like a huge Philips-head set of slots in a poly circle down inside the agitator, about the size of and old silver dollar and the two slots make up a cross that's almost two inches each.</li>

Does one unscrew this slot to remove the agitator or is it held in place with friction?
As usual all advice is appreciated.
I will try to take a pic of the inside of the agitator, but it's filthy.
