As we all say on here--Clean 'em up before taking pictures and offering the machines for sale-you the seller just might get a higher offer.
The dryer looks kind of Norgey. The full width door seems deluxe for the vintage. No visible means of opening it though. Maybe another deluxe feature?
The deplorable condition of both machines makes me feel sorry for the new ones.

those two appliances look like two kids held hostage, not cleaned or cared for ever, and left to die(not to equate what the Japanese feel about their cars and other objects having a spirit)...
How were/are Norge washer/dryer appliances perceived in quality and dependability? (grew up in the 50's/60's but can't recall ever seeing a Norge washer or dryer).

My experience has been that the dryers run forever but the washers self-destruct.
My mom's first automatic washer was a '56 Norge. It replaced her '49 Easy Spindrier. She got the matching Norge dryer. The washer failed in 1967, which was a respectable run -- for a Norge -- but the dryer was still purring along, though its timer no longer worked.
Those two machines were replaced by a '67 Snorge pair. The washer was junk, and required a new transmission a little over a year later, just out of warranty. Dad was not amused and cursed Monkey Wards repeatedly as he battled with changing out the transmission. That POS was eventually replaced by a Kenmore in 1974, which stayed around until late 2000. The '67 dryer lasted a good 20 years. It was replaced by another Snorge, I think a "Signature 2000" or something like that, which was still performing flawlessly until Dave and I moved in here in 2008 and gave it the boot to make room for our Affinity pair.
If only Norge produced washers that were as quiet and reliable as their dryers, I'd not be dissing them the way I tend to on this board. Even Norge lovers here have admitted that their washers seem to work themselves into an early grave.

That door was a three-position door. It opened partially to form a loading chute, out flat as a folding shelf or something and then, with a disturbing snapping sound, to a position almost against the cabinet for a clothes basket to fit against the dryer for unloading. It was a feature limited to high end models. A newer version is shown in the POD Norge pair for 1-11-14.
