Hey guys, I found out that Golden Haven has Whirlpool Commercial washers and dryers, model# CAE2745fq and CEM2745fq. The dishwashers are Frigidaire model#ffbd1831uw. What could you tell me about these? The washers and dryers cost $1.00 per load with coins both wash and dry. Does the washer have a straight vane or dual action agitator? What about the dispensers? I'd be willing to bring Downy balls if necessary. How good are the dryers? As for the dishwashers, what are the cycles and options? Do they have a detergent and rinse aid dispenser, or just a detergent dispenser minus the rinse aid? I should be moving soon. I hope they perform well. Thank you.

If that dishwasher is similar to a cheapie 2019 FD I given and junked a couple years ago , there is a brushed PMDC wash motor and a PM wet rotor drain pump. The dishwasher i was given had bad door switch-something these are very prone to.Dishwasher was grubby,so junked it.

Did it have both detergent and rinse aid dispensers? How did the arms operate? Did they run at once or separately? I'm curious to know about the washer and dryer which are listed above.

These are VMW commercial units. Seem more reliable than the residential ones but the shocks often fail on these eventually.

Not as good as the commercial Speed Queens that last 15+ years.
Aren't they the same as their Maytag counterparts? What makes them different if they're not the same from Whirlpool and their Maytag commercial counterparts?

Did this dishwasher alternate wash arms? Did they run them independently? How well did they wash when working? How well did the dishwasher hold dishes? I'm also curious about the Whirlpool counterpart of the Maytag Commercial Laundry.

How well did their dryers perform? I did find out that the washer has heavy duty, delicates, mixed, and normal/eco. I'd stay away from normal eco. It has tap cold, cold, cool, warm, and hot. The dryer has heavy duty/high, normal/medium, and delicates/low. I'd use heavy duty more often than not.

I believe that's the dishwasher I'm referring to, but I will look at it when I move there. Did these alternate the spray or run them both at the same time? I have 8 plates, saucers, bowls, coffee mugs, and I'm considering getting silverware and some drinking glasses. I'll need just enough for the machine to handle, and I do have other dishes like mixing bowls and other utensils. I'll use the dishwasher for everyday loads.

Unfortunately the units at Golden Haven Apartments do not come equipped with a dishwasher. Listed with stove, refrigerator and A/C included.
That's odd, because when I called the apartment complex, they were saying that they had them. Maybe they didn't explicitly say they did. I spoke with the ADA coordinator, who told me they did have a dishwasher when he was able to check out a unit.

It would be nice of each unit had at least BOL GE or Hotpoint in them. Wish they still made the old fashioned standard tub designs with a drain solenoid. Ultra cheap / simple is better than nothing.

At least a dishwasher is better than no dishwasher. I am grateful that all the units have a dishwasher, even though it hasn't been explicitly mentioned. Now, I'm curious about the washer and dryer.

Ideally, a Whirlpool Power Clean Filter module.

With the way Whirlpool was building them, the cost could have easily rivaled a BOL Amana today.

So I made some BOL Whirlool Power Clean Filter Modules. I gave one of them status indicating lights.

I wish they made tons of these, they would have helped get a real dishwasher into so many homes, and perhaps Whirlpool would have been smart enough to not dabble in the durawash mechanism.

And I wish they didn't build the point voyager. Now they did the global wash system, and now they're doing the eco series. Nobody cares about clean dishes anymore!

If everyone was like me, the Point Voyager would never have sailed. The boil the frogs scheme would have never worked, and the Power Clean would still be here today. The Power Clean is one of the very few dishwashing mechanisms ever created that managed to clean un-rinsed dishes to an immaculate shine without manual clean filters, stink or gunk. True wash away no particles left behind clean.

And, with the thermal holds, you could technically run it off a cold water line.

How do you like this? I included two pre-washes on the rinse aid and detergent dispenser models. Each increment is two minutes, so those segments not labelled with a time are roughly two minutes in duration. Since there is a pre-wash, the initial water temperature at the start of the main wash will be higher so the total main wash time can be shortened down to 24 minutes.

Dry might require a slightly stronger heater though. or a more featured timer.
