We Love Steve aka the nearly departed. Occasionally he has time to arise from his life of luxury as a live-in pool boy for a rich benefactor in Westchester county and bless us with his presence.

In the spirit that only Steve can give it:

"Thought I'd start a pic thread-- of the kind we are all interested in.

Let's try to include the name-brand of the washer and a brief description. Full-frontal preferred!

Please~ The image of your pussy-gato, dog, car, etc. are appreciated, but maybe not in this thread! :-)"

Platinum is rare. I love that WP.

I found a mid 70s KM like #5 only it was white. It was at a Goodwill when they still sold appliances. It was in really good condition accept it wouldn't spin. It kept going in and coming back out.
The only problem: one of the wig-wag wires was mysteriously damaged. It think it was the yellow one.
Made a simple splice or replaced the wire and the machine worked perfect.

Yours looks great with the original label and a color coordinated bleach dispenser. love it.

Thanks! That control panel from ‘74,’75 has always been one of my favorites. I also have a limited edition belt drive set in platinum buried in the shop awaiting a rebuild.

Oh-h-h my-y-y-y. You've got gold.

I really like the silver strip around the top and the black leatherette hood.

I have a 24" Kenmore 110.81156100 that was known working when I got it in May 2010 but I have not ever run it.  It (hopefully) just needs some clean-up from 11 years of garage storage.

Glenn that ‘81 24” Kenmore belt drive is a rare machine. For some reason around here the 24” belt drives weren’t popular. The 24” direct drives were very popular and used to be everywhere but they are gone now. I have a Kenmore 24” belt drive and it’s been sitting since the early 2000’s and looks bad now. I got it from some folks who moved here from Michigan to work. I never checked it but I’m sure the tub had a hole in it because all of the incoming water hit the floor immediately from underneath.

I forget that I also have a 24” Whirlpool belt drive from the late sixties or early seventies and it’s been sitting for over 20 years.

The belt drive Kenmore is a 1986 Kenmore 70 Series! However I have modified it slightly in the years I’ve owned it, with a waterfall style manual clean lint filter, and a double duty Super Surgilator. I do still have the original Dual-Action agitator too.

Since you mentioned incoming water hit the floor, the pump guard could have worked it’s way loose or is cracked hence the leak. Someone who ended up getting the 1981 Whirlpool belt drive washer that Lorain Furniture gave away in a raffle 3 years ago had water gushing out from the pump area whenever they tried filling it with water and turns out the freezing Michigan winters caused the water to freeze and the ice popped the pump guard off from the drain port seal.

Henry thanks for showing off the Kenmore. All of your machines are nice. I believe there were 4 70 series models in 1986 and yours would have been the second from the top. The top of the line 70 series had 5 water levels and the 2 upper line 70 series models had porcelain tops and lids while the others had the dynaguard finish. The step up to the 80 series gave you infinite water levels.
