Easy for Easy
please disregard my lastreply!! I must have taken 1 too many Salvo tablets or Fizzy's.(yes I actualy have a few packs of the cherry and rootbeerFizzys tabs they're great!)I meant to say I DO believe that the Easy (I grew up with the Rivera Model replaced in 1962 with a Kenmore Gas combo)washers with the solid tubs CAN and have handled oversudsing realitivly well.We used Duz,Cheer,Rinso,Silverdust,Breeze,Vim,Trend,Wisk and Bold and when the suds cakes started to form,I'd open the lid and watch as the suds would go flying in the air while the washer was spinning the wash water out.It had a lengthy spray before the rinse that actualy did o.k in removing the excess suds. Our problem with that particular model was the water inlet valve and the pump assembly going up quite too frequently. It was a 1953-1954 model that lasted a family of 12 less than 10 years. The Kenmore combo we used at least 3 times a day lasted from December, 1962(they gave us a brand new replacement model for 1963)untill June of 1983.It not only was in working order but still had a 3 year service contract on it from Sears. My stepmother hated it and got a Signature washer and Whirlpool dryer to replace it.I got the combo and after moving it to the "comunity"where I was at that time,I called Sears and had it completely overhauled. The service tech(Charly)who worked on it like a classic automobile had retired and his replacement(Jimmy)was not a happy camper to say the least. It took him 5 visits and 7 calls into the "Techlab"for assistance in instalation of the Ballance system lock,Moisture sensor bar, rubber boot, dispenser solinoids,sump/pump protector, and igniter bar!!!I myself from watching Charly do his wonders, could have installed most of them but wanted Sears to do it since I had paid them for the extended coverage.By the time Jimmy was finished,I'd learned every cussword in the dictionary of swaring. There was at that time a lot to say about Sears Service. That's around the time they had begun contracting out to the lowest bidders from outside their own establishment. No comparison to the Nationwide Service they had originaly set up.
