I found this recently at a garage sale and it was too nice to leave behind. I've never heard the name Webalco before but the thing is very heavy stainless steel. You know just by picking it up they don't make things like this anymore. Little bit of googling all I could find was maybe it was a division of West Bend?

These are really nice. It is filled with some type of oil and heats very evenly. Saladmaster makes this same type of skillet and if you look on Ebay these things sell for hundreds of dollars. Even the model that you have! Nice find.

Nutone Kitchen Centre

OOH - nice find, Pete! What vintage is it? I have a few spare instruction books for the older 250 and I believe 260 series kitchen centres. Think I even have a spare melamine mixer bowl, if you ever need one!

Pete,

Not sure who the manufacturer is of this skillet but it has an oil core and is of course stainless steel, the most common brand is Saladmaster, also West Bend made similar cookware, as did a few other companies. These were also refered to as "Waterless" cookware. Used electric skillets of any of the brands if with heat probe, all of the legs and lid usually sell for well over $100 on ebay.

Great Find

I think this skillet is going to be a keeper. I haven't cooked anything on it yet but if it cooks as good as it feels then yes.

Paul, the Nutone is a model 251, dunno much about them and I don't know if I really want to start gutting my counter tops and running power. I remember them and the Ronson Food Matics way back when in the 60's were always something I wanted to have when I growed up and had my own place , ha. If I had the room then building it into rolling cart set up might be the ticket. I think I have most of the pieces for it... I have the coffee grinder as well from another find as well as some more pieces.

Nice finds, Pete

I don't know anything about the skillet except that it looks FAB!

We do have the early version of the Nutone and I do use it often. I love the fact that I can put a glass cutting board/counter saver over it when not in use and not lose counter space.

Enjoy your finds!!! :-)

Wow what great finds Pete, time to fry up some chicken!!! The kitchen center is awesome, like you I always loved them growing up.

Pete thats a very nice oil core skillet. It even has legs like some models of the saladmaster. Nice find alr2903

This is another vintagey electric skillet I found as well. A Presto non immersible model also quite heavy. It has the temp control slider right there under the pan..the temperature markings are embossed into the metal on the side,, not visible in the picture. It's quite deep dish.. I didn't get the lid but I have some that fit if needed.

Oh, I have seen those sold as the Dormeyer <french fry> skillet!
Ronson Food Centre? Wow, I remember those, too - the ultimate kitchen appliance! Think I have a bowl for one somewhere in the hall of mixers...
