Hi Guys

Just been away to Blackpool for a long weekend. Whilst I was there I came across some foreign detergents in various cheap shops. Couldn't resist them. Im not sure where they are from. Possibly Germany. The two bottles of Lenor came free each with a packet of Tide.

The single pack of normal Ariel without Lenor has that vintage Ariel smell from a few years back.

Thought I would share.

Mark

I was only in Blackpool the once back in 1967 when I was 11 years old. I was over visiting my gran and great aunt in Newcastle and we went down by train. I probably wouldn't have remembered the donkeys except and most fortunately we had taken my dads 8mm movie camera. I had them transcribed to tape and CD about 2 years ago and there it all was again. I did remember the doubledecker open top trams which fascinated me even then and worse now as my mom says the trouble she had getting me and gran out of the arcade gambling on the fruit machines etc (slots over here and illegal at the time). We also went to Whitley Bay (sp?) and of course I was right in there sticking those big pennies into all the machines LOL

Mark,

That ARIEL without Lenor was the one I get locally in a cheap shop. Hardly sudsed or cleaned but yes it does have the Ariel scent from the Ariel Automatic My Mum used for the first 14 years of my life. No problems, no rash just clean clothes. Used it on all us kids no problems. Wisk Liquid was the one we had problems with. Or Radion liquid. Both brought my brother out in a rash when he was in nappys. (he is now 19) That Ariel scent is to die for. I feel Sad to smell the Toilet Duck scent it has now. Not tried my Tide yet, had no washing to do with it normally. All my holiday washing I like to do thorough first time round. Used Ariel colour liquitabs and Persil non bio tabs to do that. Will use my Tide on everyday stuff. Work clothes will put it to the test now I actually stay reasonably clean at work lol! I cant keep checking out my holiday haul for a sniff and gog at the packs lol :) R

I also love the big cap to get my chunky fingers around

on Tide liquid. And pouring a good glug, just like when Ariel had the big blue cap on its liquid bottle. Now if only I had an original Ariel liquid ball, I can dream. . . .

Mark... I'd be VERY cautious of using that Ariel Lenor Combo powder on whites.... I bought some from a cheap shop here, used it on whites it turned them blue!! the wash water was blue.... I think theres too much blueing in it or something. Just a word of warning ;)

Must inform us of how things go with the tide!

Hey, Dan! :)

How are you? Get on to MSN NOW! hehe ;)

I have heard about those problems with UK Ariel before, too, though I have never actually seen it happen, as it were.

Rob, “the pose we all love”?! hehe :) I must try to do this pose sometime! hehe :) Matt’s done it, too, of course, as have several other members here. hehe :)

Now, which one to pose with… ;) It can only be with one of course… ;)

Regards,

Carl :)

Hey Rob

I wasnt impressed with the Ariel without Lenor. Very strange looking powder and when I added it to the water (tried it in speed queen) it just seemed to dissapear. The water stayed clear and there were no suds at all. Did have the nice vintage smell though. Well I didnt trust it to clean so I added some persil...lol

Washboy thanks for the warning. I haven't tried the Ariel with Lenor yet but did open the packet. It smells lovely. I will watch out when using it. Thanks.

Just about to try my Ariel with Lenor I got in Manchester yesterday. The scoop in it seems a tad phoney but it is the P&G shape and colour. Any idea which Lenor they mean by Touch? It smells to me like yellow and blue mixed together- not sure if I could not use softener on bedding might have to add a splash of Blue Lenor on a seperate rinse and spin after cycle has finished. Will see what is like with my bedding, lights and chinos on a 60deg Synthetics with Intensive selected (2.18)as I used on my whites load the other day which has a longer wash portion than 95deg Cotton and Intensive (2hr) but a higher water level. See if this Ariel will shift Tiger Balm as well as Persil Non Bio on a 95deg. R
