Oh here are the "standard" cleaners that went with the "deluxe" versions in these years. This is the 1010, 1020, and the 1030 of which Hoover made 10s of thousands and was their bread and butter cleaners. These would often be machines to get people into the store so that they could be bumped up to the more expensive models.

Also there was some interest of the "900" series. I have posted pictures to the 900 on the right and the 925 on the left. The 900 ran from 1931 to 1933 and the 925 took on the classic model 800 look and ran from 1933 to 1936. The 900 had a production of only 7,654 and the 925 had a run of 8,935. These were not just commercial cleaners but considered the "finest Hoover for homes that demanded extraordinary service from a cleaner". These machines had rubber lined fan chambers, ball bearing wheels, two speed motors, headlights, and a heavy duty height adjustment among other quality features. My machines were both found at garage sales locally for cheap! They run great and have replacement bags and cords. The 900 still has its original handle yet but has a deteriorated bumper.

did somebody say RUBBER-LINED FAN CHAMBER? what does THAT do? does the rubber survive to this day? was the agitator the same as in other machines? more details pls, and THANKS!

The other interesting thing is the height adjuster, which the bolt thingy for goes right thru the bag outlet...

yes i do. im trying to imagine a rubber lined fan chamber. seems the rubber woulda rotten away a long time ago. was the rubber intended to cushion hard objects? noise? jeff, and about your date? David

Yes, the rubber lined the chamber and was intended to make the machine more quiet. My machines both have the rubber either removed or it just wore away. I showed the views of the agitator and the height adjuster thing. I bet many of these clogged quite easily...I wonder what the engineers were smoking the day that they came up with this design.

I really like your sunset orange Convertible model 714...not too many of those out there. You have one of my favorite DAMs too...that 1120 in orange and brown is very sweet.

Obviously someone with no imagination of their own there David. Did pretty good on yours I see, maybe I should go out and buy the blue one that sitting at a local vac shop and ebay it. I'm keeping my current one though.

i have a light blue early 80s Concept with cord reel. it DOESNT have power drive. it was only AFTER getting the blue one that i decided to auction the beige one. i dont need two, and the concept is kinda loud. go for it pete!!

The shop wants about $65 and I never pay more than $20 for a vac I've bought. If they were going on ebay for more I might think about it but to box that up and ship it from here, it's probably not worth it. GE toaster ovens are much easier..lol btw I just found another one today which will be appearing on Ebay soon. I think the toaster oven frenzy is fading though..

I'm not a big Concept One fan anyway....

That lady probably saw the $$$ your Concept sold for and is now listing hers to hopefully have the same haul....
