P&G Selling Off Oxydol
Oxydol had one claim to fame after morphing from a soap based laundry product to detergent; it contained (oxygen) bleach and later enzymes. In fact IIRC some of P&G's early activated bleaching technologies were launched in Oxydol.
However given Tide is P&G's number one laundry detergent (and holds that place in the market as well) it is only right that new innovations and technologies were concentrated there first. Bleaching systems, enzymes, etc... all went to Tide powder. Once Tide with Bleach powder was launched Oxydol's days were numbered.
Look how long it took for Gain and what is left of P&G's powdered detergents to get bleaching systems. Even still they often have some but not all of what you see in Tide. Just look at the patents listed on sides of containers.
