Everyone tell me your favorite detergent and powder.....if enough people vote on the same detergent i might go buy one.....My favorite detergent would have to be Arm & hammer clean burst because of the smell, i usually don't have dirty clothes but when i do i use fab powder because i find it removes stains better than liquid...as for scent, not so much.

Always been a big fan of conventional powdered Tide. Liquid Tide comes in a close second. Just like the scent and it works, what can I say.

I've also liked the scent of Downy Fabric Softener much better than Snuggles...

I have 2 favorites; Ariel Oxi Azul, and Sears Ultra Plus Concentrated Laundry Detergent w/ Stain FIghting Formula (orange box).

Sears Ultra Plus in the orange box also.  After reading the reviews on this site I have recently been using  Gain original scent HE in the box.  I have been well pleased with this detergent and have been using it in  my towels and sheets.  Due to allergies, though, I have not been using Gain on any of our clothing.  I also use All Free and Clear in the liquid form.  I add Borax to my wash and use Downy Free fabric softener.

Gain - Original Scent

I love the smell of Gain - and it seems to do a pretty good job. They have just started selling Gain dishsoap as well, so that's what I have in the bottle beside my sink now.

Gain dish soap

Hey Mark.  We love the Gain dish soap also.  Mr. Clean now comes in Gain original scent.  It leaves the kitchen and bath smelling wonderful when I mop with it.  Febreze also makes a Gain original scent air spray.  Have you seen or tried any of these?  Jim

It Deepends on how I feel and what I'm washing in my detergent arsenal
Which changes monthly.

The main staples are...
Powder Tide W/Bleach
Borax
Clorox Splashless Bleach
Ultimacare Care bleach from Clorox
For whites and Light colors.

Dark Laundry...
Cheer with Color Guard.
Woolite Dark.
Tide 7 Signs..For Shirts and fine items.

Softners...
It varies.. lately I am using ..
Great value ( Paradise Fresh )from Wal-Mart.
Downy's in different scents.
Ensueno ..for darks colors it prevents color fading.
Very little softning latly with Steves (Toggleswitch) rant about softners lol.... I have been reducing and getting better results.

My new thing is ...
Jabon Hispano Shredded Soup Flakes.
OOOOh man does that smell real clean
and light in my sheets I use it on.
You have to melt it in hot water and agitate it... smells SO clean.

And assorted doller dertergents.
For front loaders to reduce the good stuff like
Persil & Fairy I have now from friends I have gotten.

One Buck detergents..
Ariel
Asian Tide
The do pretty well in front loaders less sudsing.
That is whats going on now..and it will change.

Daz Automatic

I dont think you can go wrong with big box daz. washes white, highly concentrated & a wonderful scent that fills the kitchen expecially when doing a boil wash. The only down side to daz is that it causes a lot of foam even when using small amounts so i make sure that the super rinse button on my hotpoint is always pressed in when using daz.

Optima

Same, They had an offer for a 38 wash box of Daz at Tesco's for £4, I got 1 box, my gran got 2! Otherwise, its Persil Small and Mighta and Colour Ariel Excel Gel for me!

My favourite powder is Daz, it's great value and the scent of Ariel makes me feel sick. My favourite liquid is Persil Small and Mighty Bio, I love the scent and it's much better than the rubbish that is Excel Gel! My favourite softener would have to be Comfort Exhilarations Strawberry and Lily Kiss, it is amazing to smell and leaves your clothes with a crisp strawberry scent.

surf

For about 5 weeks now I've been using Surf...I shop the Dollar General and I was on one of my penny pinching kicks; Surf was on sale...it said something about being new and improved on the box. Actually I think it works okay. I have a white coverlet on my bed my Lab lays on all day...her nose condinsates and when it dries on the coverlet it turns a brownish red color...so I was the coverlet every Saturday...I try not to bleach anymore than I have to just because it breaks the material down faster. The Surf gets most of the stains out with an hour of so soak and no added bleach. So it's my favoriate this week...I'm really particial to Gain but the stuff has gotten soooooo expensive!!!

My Fav detergent is Era followed my Tide with Bleach powder! Smells sooo good, but I can never find the powder in the family size box...Fav fabric softner is the original Downy followed by Suavitel...Don't sleep in Suavitel...smells soooo good!

Since i live in a small town in Canada.....

There is no sears anywhere near me that sells detergent, just a small sears with mostly stoves and fridges. If you can believe it there is only 1 Grocery store in this town lol and everything is extremely expensive so whenever i need groceries i have to go for a 30 minute drive to Calais, Maine then i go to wal-mart, so thats the only place i get detergent from.....i very seldom buy tide because even in america the price is $12 for a 64 load bottle! and Tide powder costs even more so i never buy that, i usually just get Arm & Hammer detergent and occasionally Fab Detergent. As for softener i usually get compliments summer fresh from Sobeys in Canada. Im trying to figure out if there is a fuller brush outlet anywhere near Calais, if there was i would probably get my softener there. For dryer sheets i usually get Bounce febreze spring and renewal at Zellers in Canada, but i only get bounce if im using Tide or Gain, since bounce is from the same company as Tide and Gain.Sometimes when im in Calais i will go to Rite-Aid and get their no name brand dryer sheets, they have a very fresh scent. My favorite Bleach is LikeWise brand from Canadian Tire, of course i only use bleach when im washing bed sheets, comforters and blankets, i love how that brand of bleach is so strong that it leaves the laundry room smelling like a pool!

I doubt there is a Fuller Brush dealer in Calais. Unfortunately, this bad economy has killed that area real bad too and prices are higher there. I would guess the closest would be another 90 minutes further in Bangor. I am not that far from Bangor/Brewer area and usually get the cheapest at the Walmart Superstore in Brewer, usually Era or Great Value now that gas is over $4 bucks a gallon now. I hate to think what it is where you are in New Brunswick now.

Without a doubt

It's powdered Tide for me.  I use the "Clean breeze" scent for my ordinary clothes and the Tide with Bleach variety for my underclothes.  I wash them in a 160 degree hot wash, with 2 rinses and the whites are snow white everytime.

For me my favorite liquid detergent is Wisk, it is a bit costly at $10.67 for a 64 wash bottle, it performs great and the scent is not overpowering and is a nice clean smell. I also like the Sears Ultra Plus powder but I have been straying from powders.

When I feel like pinching pennies I'll buy the Arm N Hammer liquid as it seems to do well and the scent while stronger than Wisk isnt offensive to me like alot of the overly scented stuff.

I also when washing lab coats and bed linens I grate in about 1/8th of a bar of Fels Naptha as I just love the scent of it especiallyafter being line dried

For bleach I use Austins A1 bleach

and I NEVER ever use fabric softner, as I find the scents overpowering and I see no need for a softner. I am not a person who likes overly perfumed stuff
