with Persil liquid. I do 3 rinses in our front loader. I have to be cautious with that for shower soap too. I like Irish Spring liquid but can't use it every day or I itch on my thighs. So I alternate with Dove form men bar.

For me: Tide, Tide, Tide and Tide. Original scent powder (with bleach or whatever version other than just plain.)
Eventually (average twice a year) I switch to a box of Gain Original because of the smell (together with gain FS), just to make my nose forget Tide briefly and then I can go back to Tide.

My husband prefers that Persil liquid that looks and smells like Elmer's glue.

Oh, the STPP and Kirkland HE Liquid (Ultra Plus) is for the Neptune MAH7500 in the house. In the workshop I have a Miele collection, and they get Persil. Originally powder, but I went to Persil Liquid a year or two ago. Usually I only do whites in the Miele, because... well, it's good at them. No chlorine bleach for my fabrics, thank you very much.

At the moment, a couple bottles of Gain for everything but whites, which get powdered Tide with Bleach. Some packages of Tide pods purchased opportunistically. Honestly, though, prefer Persil, but they've not been promoted as heavily recently. I tried Hero (was at Target, I think) which smelled wonderful--pleasantly masculine pine/lavender scent. Not sure how good it was (those specialty liquids seem to be missing some enzymes) but it sure smelt great.

Whatever powdered with oxygen bleach at least with 15% content, and possibly with few to no zeolites (p&g stuff have max 5%, stuff from Henkel like persil 0%).
As long as they have the basic 2-3 enzymes kinds I'm ok. Protease amylase and lipase. Good if there also is cellulase. It helps alot used in machines lacking a lint filter and when I line dry.
As a builder I also avoid products containing too much washing soda.
I don't have a favourite detergent because I noticed that each machine likes different detergents.
I mean what performs very well in a machine does not necessarily do in another one.
For example I'm currently stashed up with a lot of Surf from Unilever for east Europe market.
It does incredibly well in the speed queen but in the whirlpool BD not so well.
Also the whirlpool likes much more detergents that don't suds much, which is not the case for the surf but but I don't get the same results I get in the speed queen with it.
In turn I got beautiful results with others in the whirlpoil that i didn't get with the speed Queen.

Same is for the front loaders/h axis I have.
And the others.
Also, where I live now we use well water, so hard, and the previous machines used everyday like the GE filterflo or the DD whirlpool I used them in town with city water which was still very hard but not as much as the one we use now. And just a different kind of water.
Different water also makes a lot of difference,
That is something that had been discussed a lot everywhere and it's true, water kind is crucial and some detergents does better based on water they are used.

Have recently started using additive tablets

In every wash to reduce limescale etc and can get excellent results using less detergent and of now am using Daz Professional as it has a higher bleaching content for whites and a colour capsule for the rest both seem to work well now and the limescale in my washer is easy to remove it just flakes off.

Never had this problem up until recently I always used Persil and it used to stop build up of everything but it seems the recipe has been changed and I am guessing the bit that prevented the lime has been taken out.....

What’s everyone’s opinion of Arm & Hammer Clean Burst scent detergent? Does it clean well? Is the scent strong? Has anyone had any allergic reactions to it? Would you use it as a daily driver? I’ve never used it but am curious. Also does it fade clothing?

Thanks,
Barry

In my Neptune MAH 7500, typically I add a tbs of STPP, followed by enough Kirkland Ultraclean liquid detergent, to create a very low level of suds. And that amount of the liquid can vary a lot - small amount for bath towels, much larger amount for street/work clothes.
