I'm no 'Queen x-pert, but

She's been rode REAL hard n put out to pasture😳❗
Do you see all that River-like silt around the door opening?
I'd bet a beer that is the least of this poor gal's woes...

Yeah, this poor girl has been around the block a time or two. Being in the desert, there doesn't seem to be any outwardly visible rust, so perhaps with a new door boot (if that's the issue) and some intense cleaning... Could be a good deal for a little elbow grease plus parts.

Seriously, do you sq enthusiusts really think that this set is that terrific? Would they really last another ten years you think? If so, it would be worth it, but I really don't know. It looks to me like something had to have caused the leakage and there may be more to it than just that.

The fact that

the trunnion can be repaired says a lot in itself. Like crank shaft bearing journals in an engine block. You remove the worn or spun out bearings, and press in new ones.

Is that a soap dispenser on the upper right? Actually looks like most of the leakage and resulting staining is from that.

Some of these had a problem with the door boot tearing. When they are replaced, some special lubricant is put on the outside of the boot to keep it from rubbing and wearing through. Parts for these are not expensive compared to parts for other machines.

yeah, that little door on the right is the dispenser......and if like some other machines, as in this one that wont start, it may have a magnet inside that wont let the machine run unless it recognizes its closed....

never heard of a machine that wont start from a bad seal....

could be a super simple fix.....

JohnL would know if these have a sensor for the drawer....

.
Yogitunes that is exactly the kind of thinking I'm looking for on this.
Why would the seller suspect a seal or gasket? It must be leaking from somewhere and that drawer looks to be a suspect area. Could it be clogged up and blocking the magnet you were speculating about? Hmm..

I am willing to bet that drawer can't close completely, from something like slug/detergent build up, preventing it from closing tightly and not allowing good contact for operation.....had several Fridgemores, one wouldn't work with the dispenser open, yet another one would.....just odd changes in design....

thus also, not closing tightly.....as water from the top shower is flowing around and out the front.....I had come across an LG doing this, that drawer had to be pushing in there snug, otherwise water ran down the front.....

the dirty streaks alone are shown from the drawer area, running down behind the door while closed, appearing to be a seal/boot issue.....chances are, they seen the water on the floor, not staying around long enough to figure where exactly the water was coming from....

There is no contact switch for soap door. My guess is the leak from above ran down and shorted the door latch? Their diagnosis is suspect but they are selling dirt cheap. If that was with range I would have bought it in a heart beat

I would buy that idea of the door latch shorting out....but its on the other side from the dispenser.....

not saying that one of the tiny switches in the door latch could be faulty as well....some machines have two or three switches inside that all have to link in order for operation....usually you find one to verify the door is closed, that the lock did engage, and the actual power switch itself....models vary...

I cant help but think, this is something simple to repair....of the few possible parts needed, what would be the cost for these, and get a great machine that will last for minimal investment....the beauty of a moderately basic built machine....
