Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

WOW!  Congratulations on getting this WCI-65 back up and running again so quickly.  I've gotta, gotta, gotta come visit to check this out, hopefully this week.

Here it is in action! (this time, it's not just the white machine with the Turquoise machine's top!), it's the one that just got the Canadian motor/transmission transplant!

Phil,

I am so happy you got these and have the ability to get them running again.  You really scored with the set.

Phil

Great turn around of a classic washer that most anyone else would consider junk and send away to be scrapped. Great save! See what just a little attention can do.

I thought the dryer would be an easy fix but the wiring has been messed up, the door heater had been removed and the inner door was all rusty from the condensation. I used many parts from the white dryer to fix it and now I'm wondering if I should fix the white one, keep it for parts or make it a regular vented dryer as I think I have most parts to do that.

Here's the turquoise dryer that I just fixed, will decide what to do with the white one tomorrow!

Wow, it looks better than the pile of parts on the floor I saw yesterday... LOL  Geez, you really did get these beauties back up and running quickly.  Further shame on me for the '57 GE that I got in 2012 and still have done less than nothing to  LOL

Congratulations Phil, they are outstanding!!

I wouldn't completely condemn the white dryer - I think your idea of turning it into a Flowing Heat model sounds good.

The Turquoise washer is washing whites and the white one is washing blue and green!

Paul, the post-1960 Filtrator dryers are also "Flowing Heat", at least that's what the control panel says! Instead of flowing through the dryer once, the heated air flows in a loop in it. The hot air, instead of being exhausted, gets cooled by the condenser to remove the moisture and it's heated again before entering back into the dryer drum.

The early Filtrators like yours (and my 1957) were more of the clothes-broiling variety!
