Hi guys,
I am making little research and it just came to my mind to ask a question here. The data collected would be very unique and valuable. I hope many of you give me answer :)

So, my question is: If you could choose modern washing machine (no older than 20)what (from what continent or country) washing machine would you choose and why?
My question is if you could choose washing machine from another continent or country would you do it and why or why not? If not, then why do you choose your local appliance? I am very curious if you prefer your local washing machines or other. I would be very grateful if you could give me some explanation regarding your choice. You can choose any continent and any country :)

Thank you for your help!

On my 4th Miele washing machine

They were the best you could buy and gave the longest warranty offered by any manufacturer. Now we in the UK have the option of buying an Ebac which is arguably as good as a Miele but I cannot testify that as never had one but when I am looking to buy a new machine I think I will choose one that won't need to be shipped or trucked here as its made here to begin with and they seem to have similar offerings to Miele.

Do you mean top loaders from USA or France?

I have an American whirlpool top loader in the shed and use it on occasions it works fine on coloured laundry but I do not have the detergent or chemicals to get a decent white wash out of it so stick to the front loaders for that as they heat up gradually which allows our Biological detergent to work at its best.

I have used non French top loaders as well and they work in a similar manner to FL was they heat etc we had a version called a Phillips slimstar apparently it originated in France and was an excellent performer. This was a few years ago and I cannot speak about models available nowadays.

That's easy for me

Speed Queen FF7 including the DF7 with pedestals because I'm a tall person with back issues and I'd want them in stainless steel because I'm not a fan of white. I prefer American made because parts would be so much easier to get than from overseas.

Best washer ever made for home use

Stainless steel Speed Queen front loader.

This machine has a 100% stainless steel non-magnetic cabinet inner and outer tub so even if it lasts 50 years there will be no rusted parts.

Even the base pan which is not stainless steel has an incredible coating on it. I have never seen a speed, queen front load or top load washer with a rusted base pan, it’s too bad whirlpool and Maytag didn’t have this technology 40 years ago when you look at how rusty whirlpools and especially Maytag get.

I doubt that they were even 5 pounds of plastic in this washer, even the ballast weight is solid, cast iron.

Even though I have nine washing machines hooked up in my house, the Speed Queen is the number one go to machine, the number to go to machine is my 17-year-old Speed Queen front loader. Of course it’s never had a problem either.

What I want isn't produced or marketed in the US, so I would have to go with foreign and 1st choice would b Miele. I want a washer with an onboard heater that will gradually heat up to very hot temperatures assuradly to take advantage of gradual heating to deal with various stains, just like my Whirlpool Duet did.

That's easy:

The 2 that I have. I currently own a 2016 SQ FL that will likely outlive me. I also Have a 1986 all original Kenmore LTD Direct drive. That is in storage right now along with the matching dryer. But as long as I have the best FL washer ever made for home use and one of the best TL washers ever made I don't feel I need anymore.

Speed Queen Front Loader

I agree with John. The best machine I ever had. Gets right to business. No balancing, starts tumbling and filling. Adss more water than other front loaders and you can get up to 5 rinses. Great machine.

Miele, any day!

My current Miele, bought in 2012 is used every single day of the week...it does a cottond 95 wash weekly, otherwise its minimum iron 40 or quickwash 30 for all other programmes...it has never let me down!
A couple of years back, the door seal went and i called Miele...they came the next day and replaced it free of charge under the 10 year guarantee!!
The guy told me it had done over 5,000 washes back then!!
Its truly a case of "anything else is a compromise"

I would choose...

For FL's: Asko. But if the price is too steep... Electrolux would be my 2nd choice. And I find their reversible door on all models to be a very nice touch.
