"Thanks to social distancing rules shops are only allowing certain number of persons inside at a time. Places have created markers on sidewalks indicating six feet distance apart."

Pretty much the same here in California. Supermarkets and grocery store have the six feet distance tapes on the floors before checkout. Even Home Depot. The markets may also meter access through the front door, although so far I've only seen that at Costco, where people have thronged to hoard basics like TP. It's clearly more of a challenge to social distance in a vertical city like Manhattan. But New Yorkers seem to be a determined lot who meet spatial challenges with aplomb.

L. Dear, I'm so glad you're OK.

If it's any consolation, the lines for TJ's are just as long here as they are in the picture you posted.  Timing is key.  My friend goes to the store at 6 AM and says it's a breeze.  I love to sleep, so I'm OK with waiting in line and keeping my distance.

Health workers putting their families life on the line

Here in the state of Victoria, Australia our health care workers currently have the option of staying at a hotel to avoid putting their families at risk. The state government is paying the hotel bill. Also anyone working at hospitals including Drs, nurses, transport drivers, cooks, cleaners who have to isolate due to exposure can stay at hotels too.

Is Australia's

natinoal healthcare system similar to the UK's? I know you have private as well as public hospitals, so must also have additional private insurance available? So how is it? Have yo had it as long as Canada since Tommy Douglas got it passed there?
The Uk began in 1946. Is care good? Waiting times for treatments? I know of a few American doctors who are living in New Zealand working on theirs. It sounds like it is very solvent, as it cost money to pay for nurses and doctors to stay in hotels during this crisis. I say it's very commendable! No system is ever perfect.
Many Americans say socialism fails once you run out of other peoples money. I think Margaret Thatcher actually siad it first. Ironic the US govt. has yet to run out of all our money, so I say all taxes are relative to socialism. It;s money form us, the public. I think govt. programs fail when those in charge steal the equity and or surplusses. They've done it here, as have many corporate raiders, and Wall steet magnates.

Upon certain

sources reporting that a certain someone is blaming China for deliberately releasing and spreading Covid 19, all I have to say about that, is that if it was, it was sent there from here.
Since China suffered the intial outbreak causing many lives lost, factories closed, etc., why would they do so? Especially considering the west is keeping them going. I doubt it's true, but if it is, only the one(s) who did it know. I never under estimate the wickedness of the power hungry and or greedy.
