"Thanks to social distancing rules shops are only allowing certain number of persons inside at a time. Places have created markers on sidewalks indicating six feet distance apart."
Pretty much the same here in California. Supermarkets and grocery store have the six feet distance tapes on the floors before checkout. Even Home Depot. The markets may also meter access through the front door, although so far I've only seen that at Costco, where people have thronged to hoard basics like TP. It's clearly more of a challenge to social distance in a vertical city like Manhattan. But New Yorkers seem to be a determined lot who meet spatial challenges with aplomb.
